Check your bias settings to see that your not running your current tubes too hot.
I have several Fisher tube amps and can't hear any difference between 60% & 70% max dissipation. Guitars amps are a little different in regards to tone & biasing but no reason to accidently destroy them before their times up.

Generally speaking, I’ve found 60% fine for fixed bias guitar amps.

Meanwhile my various orders of tubes are coming in dribs and drabs. Several matched quads and pairs of 6L6s. A couple matched 6V6 and EL84s. Then I think I've got about a dozen 12AX7s. So I think I am good for years.

Sounds good and does not seem to affect tube life.

I purchased a matched quad of EH 7868 output tubes for a Fisher 400 for $133 one month ago. Today's price for the same quad from the same vendor is $633.
Seriously??

I think I’m good. I have a closet full of tubes, but I don’t have a tube amp anymore. Lol

So coming back to this here is where I'm at....
I have a closet full of amps and guitars but actually only use very little of it. A Tele and a Pro Reverb with a few pedals and I'm good.
However...however...the recent tube shortage scare got me to force myself to get educated on my gear. As I mentioned on another thread I ordered a batch of spare tubes as backups and also bought a Hickok 600A tube tester so I could geek out and learn something about filaments and grids and such. Also I wanted the ability to do some basic home testing of capacitors and resistors.
I am having some fun with it. It satisfies the "I gotta know' part of me. Now I intend to go through the entire amp collection and test every tube and check the circuits and do an assessment of where I'm at. When I was a kid I was that guy who took every toy apart about a week after Christmas because I was interested in how it works. It didn't matter if I broke it. Taking it apart was 'playing with it'. Also it reconnects me with some of my gear that has not seen the outside of a closet in years.
But I do seem me unloading some gear in the next year or so.

Bad 6v6 in my Supro Delta King, no local options, tubes and more had them, but stock is thin and they had no 12ax7.

When I checked a few minute ago they had them in stock.

My Reverb tube auctions specify pretty outrageous asking prices.
That's because you have t'buy the whole amp t'get the tubes therein...

I have a tube pre-amp in the old SWR studio 220 bass amp. And an old Silver Face Vibro Champ, I’ll keep my eyes open for them. Pretty much every thing I use is solid state. Everything except the Champ is a bass amp, most are solid state and sound great.

Also submitted.
Asked them to consider adding 5Y3GT.

I bought some Mullard 12AX7's as spares for my Z Maz 18. They were pricey at $50 each. I decided to install them, replacing the JJs, to see how they sound and...wow!!! The amp really came alive. I don't regret the expenditure at all.

The new Mullards are my go-to in modern production 12AX7s.
If you develop a squeal in the amp, it’s the long-plate tube in V1. Just be aware…

As much as I don’t care for the EEC83, I really like these.
Big fan of the ECC803, but only in a head.

Re: Mullard 12AX7 For what it's worth, these two websites say they have Mullards in stock: Motor City Guitar $24.99 Doug's Tubes $28.95
If you want to get in line at Sweetwater, a number of the tubes they show on their website are "on order" and you can request to be notified via e-mail when they become stocked. They still list the Mullard 12AX7 at $29.99
However, not sure I would hold my breath for anything coming out of Russia

I got lucky on a brace of !2AU7 NOS Tung Sols tested and rated for $6 a pop or so.
I can live with that, it was the one thing I was low on.

I'm thinking of a Craigslist ad advertising the TWELVE 1998 Twin tubes with less than 20 hours on them for $800...and throwing in the amp for FREE !

Sooo, one of my pricey Mullards died in about two months. Ugh! Ask the vendor for a replacement. Ruby and Mesa provide a 6 month warranty. Don’t ask don’t get. They should be offering goods they can stand behind.
