It is. The only modded pedals I've ever owned were some hand me downs from a pedal addict friend of mine. When he tires of them he either gives them to me, or sells them to me really cheap. I had/have a few modded TS-7s, and a modded Ibanez Tone-lok digital delay. I think it was modded to sound more analog. I'm an off-the-shelf kind of guy mainly out of cheapness/laziness, but I'm not opposed to the idea of modded pedals. Got one you're bored of?!

I got one of these. I use it to keep solid timing. I do have a couple like the SansAmp Bass Driver DI (Tech 21), Para Acoustic DI (L.R.Baggs) and a Boost R.V.B. (Tech 21) I don’t often use them though. It’s more of a guitar player thing, I’ve used the Zoom B3 multi effect at rehearsal a few times, I got it used at a really decent price and thought it would be fun to fool around with. Mostly I just keep the SansAmp with me incase my amp fails, thought that hasn’t happened in many, many years.

This is this the current pedalboard for today. It can change by the day or hour ! Actually, everything is currently just laid out on a enameled steel board used for magnetic notes, pix, etc. I will likely make it more portable with velcro, feet, handles, perhaps drilled cord pass-throughs. I've decided to borrow Peegoo's idea and use 1/4" thick polycarbonate sheet. I ordered some so I can attach my expression pedal next to the HX FX, and I'll put a handle on it also. I ordered it a little larger than I need, just in case I decide I need something else on there, but right now that's doubtful. I can always cut the board shorter, later on. Thanks for the idea Peegoo! I'm trying to keep it as light as possible. I can make 128 different pedalboards out of this setup, with up to 9 pedals on each one.

I revamped mine recently. Needed an overhaul for quite a while. I'm enjoying it again. I do want to add an octave pedal soon. .

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen a total Boss board, especially with 5 gain pedals. I bet it's versatile.

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen a total Boss board, especially with 5 gain pedals. I bet it's versatile. It's a lot of fun. I've accumulated a bunch of Boss pedals over the years. To be honest, I just got tired of trying all the trendy boutique pedals du jour. Buying, selling, flipping, rinse, repeat. Boss stuff just makes more sense. Relatively inexpensive and readily available. Built like tanks. I'm just a knucklehead power chord hack playing in my garage. My wife grabs her bass, I grab my Strat. Pour a few Chickentails and fire up the stereo. We jam to just about anything...classic rock, metal, 80s/90s alternative, country, etc. If I was actually gigging, the board would look much different. Really no need for most of that stuff, but it's fun to have a bucket full of silly noises ready to go when I feel like getting silly.

I decided to use my now-overloaded Boss BCB-6 board to make a couple of changes. This still has too much spaghetti and not enough space, but until I wrangle another board this holds the line.

Mike, do the Fender pedals really work for their intended purposes?

Mike, do the Fender pedals really work for their intended purposes? Yeah, they basically do, although I generally use them as flavors of overdrive. The Fender Deluxe pedal has added spring reverb (digitally modeled) if needed, and has an adjustable vibrato circuit, too. The Bassman has a "Bright" alternate input, also. They both sounded outstanding when I tried them out at the GC store, yet, especially with my modded Strat, I have noticed it has been more difficult to dial it in with my personal FX's and amplifiers. That's something that, of course, can (and does) happen with any musical equipment. I will say, in my view, these solidly built Boss pedals would have been much more versatile if they had featured an additional switchable speaker/cab circuit to reproduce the unmistakable and vital speaker sounds of these classic amps. An in/out button would allow any use.

Here is the current iteration of my board. I made a power supply that runs off of my rechargeable 18V Ryobi power tool batteries. The light blue rectangular component at the front, is a loop controller I made to switch 4 different groupings of effects. Each loop chain has a boost, and there is a master boost at the end of the total pedal chain .

Marty, nice board! Is that a Paisley Deluxe under the tape? It is a Paisley Deluxe. I have an original Paisley on my smaller board too.

When you are mainly a bedroom player like myself, this is the best you can do. It's all built into my little amp. Attachments:

Henry, have you tried cranking the Master and using the Volume for control? I found it got much better tones.

LM, I usually get better effects by cranking the volume and using the master for control.
But the fun thing to do is channel two, which is not in the picture. It's the overdrive channel. I have to turn the master 'way down to keep the neighbors from complaining when using channel two.

Yeah, the amp did sound fuller with Channel 2 up.

Long ago, I was a minimalist. Obviously, that ship has sailed. I just pulled this board out of retirement after several years. It got bumped by an Axe-FX; now it's bumping back. No, I don't move this board unless I absolutely have to. It weighs like a decent-sized amp. I record with this board. There's an XLR patch point right on the board. Attachments:

This bedroom player with the amp with several built-in effects found his old fuzzbox, which predates the Vox amp. Purchased at Target in the first decade of this century.
