Y'all helped me on my project Tele to select the right pickguard and it turned out great. Here's another opportunity to cast your vote.
I've had my Carvin Bolt for about 20 years and I've never really been a fan of the bridge pickup on a Strat (except for the #2 position). I'm replacing the Bridge pup with a humbucker, a Fralin Unbucker, and I'm mulling ideas for a new pickguard.
Should I keep the tortoise shell? Matte black? Gloss black? Cream? Something exotic?
For consideration, the covers and hardware will remain black.

While I wouldn't use it as a hard and fast rule, my first three choices for pickguards tend to be black, black pearl, or mint.
Truthfully, I like the tort here. My other suggestions would be red pearl or mint pearl.

I would go with a pearl of some sort. Actually, blue pearl would look nice against the color of that body.

Here are the suggestions so far. They're super-imposed so they're not perfect, but enough to get the idea.

I like that coppery tortoise or whatever it is too, but my white pearloid is still my #1 pick (guard). See what I did there???

It wasn't a choice initially, but that blue pearl is exquisite.

The original tort is very nice in itself, but I don't think there's enough contrast with the body or the black stuff. So I'm going to vote white pearl.

My vote is the cream. I've got one that looks very similar and it for some reason is an eye catcher.

That is very unusual in a really cool way. Where'd you find that option?

Is that "Anaconda" from Warmoth? I was considering that one but almost discouraged by one of their reps. He said something to the effect that many are returned due to buyers perception vs the received product.
