My adaptation of a few recipes I have used over the years...my kids love this one.
1/4 cup Olive oil 5-6 cloves garlic
Crush the garlic and Sauté in pan for a few minutes - be careful not to burn the garlic! Add 28 oz can of tomato purée Pinch of Sea Salt Teaspoon of sugar Cup of dry white wine - pinot grigio is best Teaspoon of basil Teaspoon crushed red pepper.
Adjust sugar and salt to taste
Simmer for at least an hour

The sugar makes all the difference and sometimes I add a little grated carrot for sweetness!

Might be good for pizza sauce? Here in Chiba we love black sauce as substitute for veggie sauce on pizza bread.
Black Sauce is created with ink from squid and crushed nori seaweed for mouth roughage. The milking of squid is very delicate. The sauce, not the squid.

Adjust sugar and salt to taste Simmer for at least an hour Sugar is used to balance the acid from the tomatoes , if a pasta sauce is sweet you used to much sugar and to me thats just wrong. Sweet pasta sauce Yuk.

I add onion to mine and used either crushed tomatoes or Cento whole tomatoes. I also add some dry parsley.
