Here in lovely Montana. Yesterday was a record high for any January OR February in history. 61 degrees. But the wind.....82 mph at the Great Falls airport, 65ish gusts on the drive to Missoula. Highway then closed to emergency traffic only due to uprooted trees and an overturned semi on the road. Winds in Glacier NP.......106 mph. Pretty quiet in my neck of the woods........but it snowed last night😁

Dang, that make our local winds look like sissy winds. I've been plotting another trip up to Glacier as soon as weather permits.

It was an unusually warm 58 F here in Salt Lake City ahead of the same storm that's driving the winds in MT. Winter snow had just about melted off in the valleys just in time for another 10-12" tonight and tomorrow. I'm glad the winds are predicted to be less than half of what they were up north. Hold on!

65 degrees and sunny today up here at 8500 feet. Our January thaw came late.
Snow tomorrow, though 4-6".

Very cool stl80. Obviously a very rare event here. Came here 25 years ago. My Mom was born and raised here. I was hatched in SoCal and live about 2 hours south of Missoula in a very rural area.

Rural western Montana is beautiful. That's one nice thing about Missoula, drive 1/2 hour in any direction and you are close to an official wilderness area. I spent a fair amount of time in the Bitterroots. Jim

Hey were far from Montana, but our weather here in NJ has been the warmest in years. 40 to 50 degrees and no snow all of January, and expected for February. I'll take it,,

The Bitterroots are my back yard. Best time to visit Glacier is in the late fall. WAY less people. People back from vacation and kids back in school. Yellowstone and Glacier both had over 3 million visitors........again.
