Cancer took you away too soon. You were only 33.
Rest in peace, Eva.

My favorite. In this song, she wails on the A, the one over high C! And most excellent B3 playing. This song just makes me happy.
I forgot to tell you the title: oh had ia golden thread

Eva Cassidy was fearless. She could cover so many different styles of music.
Her family lives five minutes down the road from me.

I remember you mentioning that on an old FDP thread. Vickers was a huge fan.
She also had severe stage fright. She used to stand behind one of her band members when she sang.

To my ear she had one of the most beautiful and unpretentious voices I've ever heard.

That girl could sing. Played a Guild Songbird, too.
Big fan here. RIP, Eva, gone too soon.

I really loved Eva's albums.
As I recall, FDP member Tyrone Shuz backed her up a few times and had great respect.

This reminds me of 2002 winter Olympics. After a loss, Michelle Kwon skated a post performance to Fields of Gold. I cried. I cry thinking about this.

Good call. Btw, you have to go to YouTube to watch/hear it. The Olympic Committee block links.

Her cover of Songbird is one of the best vocals I’ve ever heard.
Happy birthday Eva. RIP. Cancer sucks.

I've been listening to Eva for a hour.
Effortless. Pure.

A month or so ago I was playing her "Songbird" CD when my wife came home from work. She's in a bit of a rut as far as her musical tastes go. She had never listened to Eva despite the fact that I've been playing her stuff for years. On this particular day, rather than give me the usual twenty minute detailed account of her day, she just sat down and listened to the rest of the CD.
I had never seen that before.
