If you have had dealings with them can you tell me how it went? Their 55 point inspection caught my eye, plus they will do a set up per your preferences. Musicians friend has been less than stellar lately. Are they any better?

I like their personalized service. I’ve got a sales engineer Greg Savino assigned to me - I think he handles all Hawaii sales. He’s taken the time in the past to call me if there were delays with a shipment or if something on back order was coming early. Just one thing though… They used to include a little packet of candy - nothing special, just a little fire ball, peppermint hard candy, tootsie roll, smarties and bit-o-honey. Lately, it seems they’ve discontinued this practice. Ah well, supply chain issues I guess.

Never bought a guitar from them but have spent many tens of thousands of dollars on other stuff from them. Their customer service is second to none. I would feel totally at ease buying a guitar from them knowing that if it wasn't what I wanted they would make it right and hassle free.

I've spent over 15 grand (!) at Sweetwater since 2012, with no complaints so far. I deal almost exclusively with either them, or Reverb if I'm buying used. I had an amp show up with a hole in the box and a corresponding hole in the speaker cover, and they shipped another amp before I had even processed the return. Yes, I have a sales person assigned to me also. Occasionally he'll email or call me to see if there's anything I need. Their service is better than any other music venue I've dealt with. They have also given me a better price on higher priced items, more than once.
Edit: It's also nice to be able to look at your order history from day one.

I’m a fan.
And yes, the candy is still in the box. You were ripped off, Mark.
When I retire from this gig I want to be a candy packer at Sweetwater.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from Sweetwater, never anything really pricey. But if I were to buy an expensive guitar on line it would be from them. My "guy" Andrew always calls after an order is shipped no matter how little (even strings), sometimes he just calls if I haven't ordered in a while.
My daughter in law once got me a gift certificate to Sweetwater and as a non-musician was quite annoyed at the post-purchase followups, lol.

I've bought stuff other than guitar from them. No problems.
My late brother, who went through a LOT of guitars, had glowing words for Sweetwater when I asked him where he got all this guitars from. He was a faithful customer of Sweetwater.

when i was playing, i bought a lot of stuff there. it's been several years but i still get messages from VERN, the sales rep that handled my account. i did my school accounts with them too. i had a variax guitar that i needed a case for... i ordered one i thought would fit but it didn't. i called, VERN guy went to the warehouse with one of those instruments and found one that worked. i sent mine back, he sent that one. only place that's ever done that kind of thing for me... musician's friend? not a fan. they've never done anything bad to me, they just acted like they didn't care. sweetwater gives me candy

Love Sweetwater. And my sales rep, Matt. Set up- I bought a nice Yamaha acoustic and had them do a setup ($60). It's perfect. 55 pt. Inspection- one failure where I bought a Gibson LP. Strings were WAY off center. They should have caught this. Overall, my fav place

There's nothing comparable in the UK. The biggest guitar dealer is Guitar Guitar, but they only have six stores. It's employee owned and I've had very good customer service from them. The London guitar shops are still mostly very good and most big cities have a biggish store on the lines of GG, plus some smaller, more specialist places. There are some big companies which are almost exclusively internet-based. I've used Thomann in Germany, which was impressively efficient and quick.

I remember buying parts from some company years ago, not sweetwater. They put a sucker in the box. I got pissed. Figured they were calling me a sucker for buying from them.

It's been years since I bought anything from GC or Musicians Friend because Sweetwater! Thousands of dollars to them. Service, second to none. Excellent shipping record, even over the last few years of BS. Bought many guitars from them. Last was an Gibson LP Standard. They set it up perfectly. Even plekked it. It's perfect! However, my candy pack did not contain an Atomic Fireball this time. Instead, a root beer 'drop' was in it's place. Thank you, Brandon.

I would prefer they keep the Atomic Fireball and ditch the Peppermint for the Root Beer Barrel.

All good experiences for me @ Sweetwater.
Willcutt is another one I've had great experiences with. They're small compared to Sweetwater, but gave me great service.

Another thumbs up for Willcutt and for Chicago Music Exchange. Used to always buy from Sweetwater, but my sales rep, Brendan? left or got reassigned...not the same experience after that, he was great.

Excellent experience with Sweetwater when purchasing a "Jazz" guitar. MF and GC do not have any concept of customers service.

I’ve stopped in to the mothership in Fort Wayne, Indiana a couple times. It is like a Rock Candy Mountain for guitar players.

They are the best. Used them for 20 years never disappointed. Bought multiple guitars from them-always ready to play right out of the box. They replaced a guitar damaged in transit immediately. At one point I ordered a Rickenbacker that was not in stock but gave me a date estimate. When they couldn't deliver by that date-they called me and reduced the price. Very knowledgeable sales people.

I've bought a LOT from them. When I received my Ibanez Artcore, it was setup perfectly.
