Winterplay is not really a band, more the concept of the only constant member, Juhan Lee (writer, producer, trumpet player). Tonight I'm listening to their album, Songs of Coloured Love (2010), beautifully recorded and arranged smooth jazz/lounge with some pop and Latin influences. I first heard them without knowing anything about them and was amazed to learn they are from South Korea. If you like strong but mellow female vocals (from Moon Haewon), punchy double bass, mostly acoustic guitar, jazz trumpet plus some subtle vocal harmony/percussion/keys...etc accents...you should give Winterplay a listen. The cover versions are...interesting. Including Billie Jean and Quando, Quando,Quando.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of smooth jazz -- but I'm open to something new.
Do you have a link to something that you like so we can check them out?

I've found this, but it's not one I'm familiar with:
Quite a lot of tracks on Spotify too. I'm not usually a smooth jazzer either.

That's nice -- I'd say it's a step up from smooth jazz. The vocalist does a good job.
If you like some modern jazz, I've been listening to this guy lately -- bassist Chris Lightcap. I bought his record "Superbigmouth" and I'm liking it.
