No not the Beatles song. Just curious to see if anyone here owns or has owned a bulldog. My son is going to Butler University next year and their mascot is a bulldog. We would there for a campus visit on Friday and the Butler Bulldog was out and about.
He was very friendly and pretty cool. It just got me to thinking.

Not a big fan of dogs with big jowls and short muzzles: they tend to slobber all over everything.
Just my personal preference, if you like 'em, more power to ya. Anyone who puts in the time, money and energy required of a responsible dog owner deserves to have whatever kind of dog appeals to him/her.

What variety of Bulldog? I think the American Bulldog is very handsome. The squat English Bulldog not so much.
But I love all dogs -- even the hideous little yappy things. I just like big dogs better.

An English bulldog was left in my BILs care while the owner shipped out in the Navy. The guy apparently never came back for him so my BIL cared for the dog permanently. The thing was a slobbering fool. Had some character but had some bad habits as well. One was that he loved getting in the empty bathtub and scratching at the drain. They had to keep the door closed at all times, and if went in to use the shower he'd bang at the door and come barging in as soon as you opened the door.

Son and his family have an american bull. Seems they are prone to some health issues, nice enough dog though

Would love to have an English bull... against my first impression, I was afraid of them at first introduction....but, everyone I've ever had contact with were too cool... dumb as mud, but the personality was great. Downside of being expensive and the health problems.

Oh, bulldog!
I read it as birddog. “Hey Birgdog, get away from my quail, hey birddog, you’re on the wrong trail!”

That's cool! I grew up calling every rig a Mack. Still do.

It’s in the American vernacular. 😎
