No price changes, both local stations at 2.39.9 but the home station is now a 7-11.

Went down 6¢/gallon to $229.9. Since I hardly go anywhere, these days (and that is just around the neighborhood) I haven't needed to fuel up since the end of June.
I recently needed to visit a store, some miles away, and took the freeway to get there. After months of city only driving, I could gave sworn I heard my little car yelling "Wheeee"
as we reached highway cruising speed. lol

$2.25 at the station by work. Gas light came on as I was approaching the station, $30 got me full ahead of the storm.
Not sure why I have been waiting so long to buy gas, that is the second time in a row the gas light came on. I am usually more of a fill it when it goes to 1/2 or 1/4 kind of guy.

Ya..me too (re: fill at 1/4 or more). The particular year my car was manufactured is the only one (in that brand line) I'm aware of that did NOT have a low gas light. Therefore, anything below 1/4 and I'm checking for a gas station even though, with 1/4 tank I've still got 60-90 miles left, depending on whether city or highway driving. Better safe than sorry, I say.

Not usually following this thread because our prices in Oregon are always higher than the national average (gotta pay those gas pump jockeys), there's another aspect to consider here maybe. How much have you spent on gas this year? I own a '17 F150 SuperCrew, the only vehicle I own and have spent just over 160 bucks this year for gas. I last filled up in mid March. It's August!! and I still have just below half a tank. It holds 36 gallons so, there's that. I guess that means I either have no life or, I have been complicit in following the 'Corona guidelines' in which the former is the result. However, I don't think I'm alone with this phenomena (Injects 'Capt. Obvious') This post can usually be found on the front page so, maybe I'm on to something here.

My driving is MINIMAL, anymore (I miss it , too, because I love to travel)
Combination of: 1) Retirement 2) Moving from Las Vegas, NV to Mesa, AZ (320 miles closer to my mom, in case she should need me) 3) Covid-19 lock down (and the only store I routinely visit is a Walmart about 1/2 mile from my house)
I just checked my records and was surprised to find that January thru July I've spent exactly $91.24 on gasoline. Wow! I didn't realize I'd saved that much.

Still no changes in the two stations I report on, 2.39.9 each. Been a long time that way.

A;ways cheaper across the river. Taxes. i find the NY/NJ divide is narrower than it used to be. Used to be a good $.60-.70 per gallon, now it’s about $.30-.40. I’ll still hold off getting gas if I know I’ll be going to NJ, but I don’t make a special trip (incurring a bridge toll in the process) like some folks do.

I am usually more of a fill it when it goes to 1/2 or 1/4 kind of guy. If you do this your fuel pump will last longer.

$1.78 currently @ Costco Wichita. Up a nickel from last week. I expect an increase due to Laura arrival in the early hours tomorrow.

$2.23 at the cheapest place near the office this morning. First fill-up of the new ride, $28 got me from 1/4 to full. I keep track of that because I like to know how much it will take instead of having to get change. One of my quirks, I suppose.

Not me. I roll up to the pump, insert plastic, and pump gas until it’s full. It takes what it takes. And, having a few quirks myself, I consider 1/2 tank to be empty. My last fill up was a little over $13, for premium. My Mustang will sit for several days at a time and a full tank helps prevent condensation from forming in the tank.

But I try to figure out the exact amount to make it that way. Now I know at $2.23 and 1/4 tank, its $28. I should add, I only pay with cash. If using a credit card, I wouldn't pay any attention at all. Also, I would usually fill up at roughly 1/2 tank, but didn't have cash on my the last 2 days so I waited until I did. Hence the 1/4 tank.

"If using a credit card, I wouldn't pay any attention at all".
I've always wondered if that's how Chevron stations, directly or diagonally across the street from competing stations, get away with upcharging 20¢/gallon and STILL have lots of customers. I've always used cash for fill-ups. I suppose it would be easier to ignore the pump price if no actual money was changing hands.

Gas outlets in Wichita and Kansas as far as I know do not upcharge for credit cards. Same price cash or credit.
Just googled it and it is illegal to upcharge for credit in 10 states and Kansas is one of them. So is Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and 6 others.

Costco Wichita increased .05 to $1.83. I’m pretty sure it is a result of Hurricane Laura impacting gulf coast refineries. Or, at least an excuse to raise prices.

And back down .04 to $1.79 Saturday. Costco Wichita.

Not to seem contrary, but I never give the price of gasoline a thought. Not a thing in the World I can do to control or change the price.
As long as it's available I'm good.

"Not to seem contrary, but I never give the price of gasoline a thought. Not a thing in the World I can do to control or change the price." Glad that works for you, many of us kick in "demand elasticity" as the price fluctuates.
