It is 1.26 today at our local Sam's Club in NorthWest, Arkansas. But all our vehicles are full of gas and since my wife and I are now retired it will be a while before we need to refuel.

Oil prices tumble into pennies, may actually go into the red today according to my son in the biz. Which means it'll cost money to haul it away, like trash. Tankers sitting, lack of use, lack of storage. This will be an additional "bad thing" in today's world.

Tankers sitting, lack of use, lack of storage. This will be an additional "bad thing" in today's world. Indeed. I'm sure lots of folks are thinking this is cool...YEAH...cheap gas. But that's not what it means. It means trouble ahead. It is basically the markets background voting on where the economy is going. Folks on the commodity side are thinking that even when the economy starts back up, there will be no demand for oil (industrial production, etc.). Which means we could be in for some truly rough times ahead. So hang on to your hats--could be a wild ride ahead. As I'm writing this oil was trading at NEGATIVE $35/barrel. That's bizarre.

"The price on the futures contract for West Texas crude that is due to expire Tuesday fell into negative territory — negative $37.63 per barrel. Sellers were actually paying buyers to take the stuff off their hands. The reason: With the pandemic bringing the economy to a standstill, there is so much unused oil sloshing around that American energy companies have run out of room to store it. And if there’s no place to put the oil, no one wants a crude contract that is about to come due." www.cnn.com/2020/04/20/business/oil-price-crash-bankruptcy/index.html

With staged reopenings likely rather soon, I don't worry much about the negative price long run. It's an interesting thing about WTI, the contract stipulates that you take physical delivery in Cushing, Oklahoma, look at Google satellite of that town, it's all tanks and pipelines. Tanks full today!

Costco is 1.17. News reports of some stations under a dollar on the north side of Cincinnati.
All this cheap gas and nowhere to go.

Drove past the most expensive gas station in my area today, notoriously $0.25+ more than all of the other stations, because its isolated and right by the entrance to the only large expressway on Staten Island.
They were the lowest I have ever seen them at $2.39.
