Sad to say that Fulltone is closing shop. Yeah, some have complained about Mike Fuller’s style of customer service (or lack thereof) but one can’t deny that he made some legendary pedals. I own a few myself: Clyde, Clyde Deluxe, and Mini Deja-Vibe. Good luck to Mike Fuller and his employees. www.guitarworld.com/news/fulltone-california-factory-closing

Sad! I've had a Plimsoul on my board for a decade.

Won't be but a minute and the prices will quadruple. If not yet, this pedals will meet with mythical status.

I'm sure he'll likely sell the rights etc to MXR or somebody with deep pockets.

Josh Scott gives some details here and as always his nice historical perspective on the Fulltone legacy.

I tried selling my Fulldrive 2 Mosfet several months ago and had no bites sxcept an offer of $80. They're listed on Reverb now for $275+. The only downside of mine is that is has stickers instead of screen printed control labels. Maybe I can market it as some kind of rare specimen!

I once sold my '69 pedal for over $200 on eBay... what was I thinking?
Here's my new price list.
Fulltone Clyde Wah - Signed by Mike Fuller $2000.
Fulltone Deja Vibe 2 - Signed by Mike Fuller $2000.
PayPal or Money Order - US customer only.

If I'm not mistaken, Reverb (and other distributors) dropped Fulltone as a supplier in the aftermath of Mike's rants (somewhat justified IMHO) about riots and looting in Minnesota 2020. How ironic now that sellers are using Reverb to drive up the prices of "used" Fulltone pedals.

Meh.
I've only ever owned an OCD; was never impressed, gave it away at some point. Really wanted his version of the Echoplex at one point and was ready to cough up the dough until I read his rantings about tape replacements, etc. Kinda sad to see one of the earlier boutique houses going under but only for the employees. He did fine...

Really wanted his version of the Echoplex at one point and was ready to cough up the dough until I read his rantings about tape replacements People make a big deal about EP tape replacements, but it's really easy to reload cartridges with new tape. All you need is some lubricated 1/4" tape (like blank 8-track tape) and a splicing kit. Original echoplex tape cartridges were loaded with 8-track tape. Nothing special.

For some reason I totally missed the Fulltone boat. I borrowed an OCD many years ago to get a feel for what the hype was about but it didn't work for me and I gave it back pretty quickly. Other than that and the deja-vibe nothing else they did was on my radar. Why such an important historic brand were so far off my radar I cannot explain but having learned of his regular bad behavior I have zero regrets.
As far as the "end of the boutique era" is concerned, as technology and manufacturing evolve, and society and retail landscapes change, it has always been true that some ways of doing things will come to an end. Fulltone's end is not a big loss because Fulltone's beginning was what was important in the current big picture. I think the current effects market is pretty vibrant, tons of great options (without supporting people we might not tolerate in person) and we can be grateful for Mike Fuller's influence on how things are today.

I'm in the minority, I just didn't gel with any of those I've tried. That would be close to 7 or 8. ymmv

Some of my pals had his pedals. Fuller seemed a bit too much of a goober for me to give my money to him.

I tried the Distortion Pro, but it was like too throaty-voiced/hollow sounding if that makes sense. The OCD is great. It's too bad he's closing the doors, but he's like Jerry Jones and Prescription Electronics. Unique shops that live or die by the owner. They may not have the 'best' customer service, but usually because it's a small operation and they're like super overworked. Btw, is there a reason people didn't like the Fulltone guy? Josh in the video alluded to it. If it's something allowed to be discussed, let me know.

I really like my Plimsoul, which replaced the OCD. Also have two versions of the Fulldrive as well as I think the Distortion. Too bad, but it is a huge and saturated market.
Pedals are so subjective, especially considering the vast differences in how they’re used VS how they’re designed to be used.

I’ve got a Fulldrive 2 MOSFET on my “Marshall” board that I really like with the amps.
I had a Fulldrive 3 at one time, as well.
I think that those are the only two Fulltone pedals I’ve ever bought.

My Mother told me if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything, so I’ll refrain from giving you my opinion of the jackass. But, if you’re familiar with the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, that’ll put you well into the ball park.

I've tried a couple of his overdrive /distortion units and a couple of his modulation devices and though none completely sucked, none were as good as other, and many times less expensive, pedals. That's for my ears.

Dude was cool in my book.
Answered my questions, sent me a copy of his CD, signed my pedals... plus I think the Deja Vibe 2 sounds like Hendrix reincarnated.

Not sure if it was how he treated customers, but some of these early pedal/pickup makers were just trying to survive in the start, and it would depend on the day you caught them if you contacted them. I always took that into consideration. I used to go to a very opinionated/snippy amp tech, but he knew his stuff.
