There was a Katana club thread down the street at the old Moes' and being someone with less than a year experience with my Katana 50 (which is dear to me) I really didn't spend much time there but now I have some questions about how to change channels and have an expression pedal for wah at the same time. I have a Boss FS-5L which works fine changing channels but I want to use an expression pedal "And" be able to change channels. I am having a very difficult time finding out a solution, perhaps the solution is upgrading to a Katana 100 that I would guess would have more than 1 footswitch interface??
I tried chaning my Dunlap pedal in between the 5L and the amp and I just ended up with two channel switches......
Any thoughts or ways to do this?

Feels like I have been Black listed. Almost a hundred views and not a single comment.... I have emailed Roland and asked them what I need but honestly I cannot think of a better way to tell a long time member and contributor to go away. You guys have a nice day.

Now now...we just don't all have Katana's you lucky dog ! Also, we could be in serious trouble trying to process your icon into a frogman...or a frog ! It kinda looks like someone needs a meal... As to your question, I don't have a Katana either, but I do use expression pedals and selector pedals that can use the SAME input. Sadly, that one input can NOT be both an expression pedal and a channel selector because there is software controlling how the input is used. So if you have one input, I'd stick the expression pedal in that for maximum sound or volume control. And then change presets manually. On some equipment there is also a midi input as well. If so, presets and other variables can be selected using midi. So, if you are like me where you want BOTH an expression pedal and a preset(or other on/off parameter) pedal, look for more than one input. On the bright side, now you have a reason to buy the bigger Katana so that you have a 1)backup and 2)a stereo pair for greater sound and FX ! And, of course, it's your duty as a citizen to support the economy and good product producers like Boss ! In short, you'll be a "hero" if you upgrade. A guitar hero. Technically.

I want a Katana, I really do.
But I'm damn near 61, don't play in a band, and already have nine really good amps.

I’ve been eyeing a Katana 50 for a while now. I’m trying to decide between that and the head version. I like the idea of travelling to a gig with little more than that, a couple of pedals, and a gig bag. Either one.

My 50 is my home practice amp. It does a good job but I'd never mistake it for a tube amp. Still, it's a very good amp for the $170 I paid for it new.

I have a Katana 100 Head with a GA-FC (B) foot controller. On the back of the controller there are 2 1/4" inputs over the label 'Expression Pedal': 1 "VOL" for a Volume Pedal, the other for "FX" for wah (or whatever, I guess - haven't used it yet.) I have used my Ernie Ball Volume Pedal with it and it works fine, allowing one to switch channels normally as well as engage the volume pedal on the side. Hope this helps.

I played with the fifty-watter last Saturday, and it sounded pretty dang good to me.

I played with the fifty-watter last Saturday, and it sounded pretty dang good to me. Did it seem like or similar in volume output of a 50 watt Tube amp? Back in the late 60's I had a nice looking silvertone solid state 50 watt amp head and speaker cab. It was embarrassing as a friend cranked his 65 Fender Bassman amp (with guitar) up and it was louder at 1/2 power than mine maxed. Haven't been able to play one as mine is on backorder

I had it on the .05 Watt setting or whatever it is.
Probably wouldn't even compare to my old JCM800's in the volume department, but as far as a good, usable Rock sound... it was pretty good.
As good as an amp that costs less than a few hundred bucks, that is.

I may not use the .05 Watt setting but I have my eye on it for a "very loud" guitarist friend so he can get his jolly's at a much lower volume when he comes to my house.
