That said, it looks to me that about 50 people are driving the conversation and a whole bunch are just along for the ride. As a non-pay site, as long as the conversation is flowing, I'm not sure our membership number really matters.
I'm at another small public forum for left handed bass players and the total membership is about 1300. Out of that, the number of actively participating in posts has gotta be even lower, like maybe less than 30.
50 actively posting out of about 500 members, that's about 10% if my math is right. I think that's actually above average. At that rate out of every 10 new members, you can expect maybe one of them that will actively post. I think that's probably about as good as you can expect.

Good to hear, I’m glad to see people enjoying the place. I’ve said it before, but my only goal was to try to continue the party from the FDP, and I think we’ve been able to do that.
And I’m very happy to see people continuing to sign up a month and a half in.

People need to temper their expectations, this is not the time/era of forums, that has well passed for the most part.
It's not about numbers now, but content. I'll take 10 meaningful posts over 10k crap ones any day. Been there, saw it, burned the tee shirt.
Nuff said......ehwhat?

I think some folks expect a lot more traffic flow, postings, numbers. But in this day and age IMO this sort of venue will draw and appeal to a fairly limited member/participant level. Not that that's a bad thing, but expectations of the volumes of new threads/replies need to be tempered with reality and accept what it is. And what it is...is just fine. Now, if the site needs volume to survive, well that's a different story. Does it?
