I wouldn't dare try any device (improvised or otherwise) without running it by my neurosurgeon these days. Heck a year ago I tried some "recommended" yoga stretches and ended up on a Methylprednisolone pack for a week. That treatment really helped for a short term, but being a steroid by day 3 I was climbing the walls.

First spinal fusion F4/F5 in 94 at age 42, Second F5/S1 in 2013, last one 2020 F2/F3 and F3/F4. Enough Titatium Screws and Hardware I could owned Ace Hardware holding them together and a Titanium Block in front on F5/S1. In addition hip issue if laying on one side too long, Arthritus in neck and rotator cup issue. Triple Bypass in 2010, Both eye’s lens replaced due to Cataracts,Gall Bladder removed in 2019. At age 70 I am feeling it. Got a new bed that is helping with the hip issue. While I am now sleeping better still when I raise up in bed in the mornings I hurt for several minutes as gravity sits in then gets better after a bit. I am sick of surgeries!!!!

I'm feeling like an old geezer today. My sons birthday today and his BIL called me a week ago saying he was have a surprise golf outing for him today and asked if I wanted to join them. We tee'd off at 7:15 am with temps at 38 degrees. Even snowed on a couple of holes. I haven't picked up a club in 3 years. Talk about being stiff. I shot a wonderful 137. Time for a hot shower and a bottle of Ibuprofen and a nap.

I'm finding that my memory varies throughout the day:
•first thing in the morning I often can't come up with trivial names and dates. I don't forget things like the wife's name or my birthday: nothing important...just inconsequential stuff that I none the less usually have at my fingertips.
•Once I have breakfast and a coffee under my belt, I sharpen up considerably in this regard.
This "blurry in the morning" sort of thing is probably not unusual across the age spectrum. It's a matter of degree: I've just noticed that it has become more pronounced in my case over the past few years.
