Any devotees here? Been reading the specs and comparisons to Katana -- most impressive.
(Still trying to decide if it's "Next Tone" or "Next One"...)

Just checked your link out. Very impressive for a modeling amp. I was thinking of an AC30 until hearing this. EL84 has Too much crunch. I love the 6L6 clean tones

I have a Katana 50w and it's a terrific amp, so it's clear that advanced amps like the Nextone and Blues Cubes from Roland/Boss, (as well as others like Fender's new ToneMaster Deluxes and Twins) have captured enough of the traditional tone and feel to make them valid and affordable choices for guitarists. It's great to have such a wide variety of tube, hybrid, analog and digital solid state and modeling amps to choose from !

McCreed has one. He must have missed this thread. Yeah, sorry, I've been a bit AWOL. The truth is I had one... I sold it shortly after acquiring a Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb, which I absolutely love. The Nextone Stage sounded very good, but the one issue for me was the difference in tone when switching between the clean channel and the drive channel. I could EQ them so they sounded great individually but it just didn't sound right to my ears going from one to the other. Ex: set the clean so it has all the tones I want - switch to the drive channel and it would loose the bottom and get a mid-high boost that I just didn't like. Now I know you're going to say "Just use the Nextone Editor"... well try as I might I just couldn't get it to do what I wanted AND I absolutely loathe the deep diving stuff. Which is why I avoided the Mustang stuff like the plague (or the Corona Virus). It's because of this aversion to deep diving, I was attracted to the Blues Cube Artist and the Tone Master DR. Just plug in and everything is just a twist of a knob on the front of the amp (or top on the BC). No computer needed. I never noticed the tone difference in any of the video demos, so maybe I'm just an idiot or got the one amp with a wonky "brain", but I wasn't sad to see it go (despite losing a bit on the deal). I will say that it it did sound good using the clean channel and OD pedals, but if I have a two channel amp, I'd like both to be usable without needing to re-EQ or reprogram. FWIW, since I got the TMDR, I haven't played the Blues Cube once. I'm keeping it and it sounds excellent but the TM is just so light and sounds incredible. It's now my grab & go. I play in a rehearsal studio with drums & bass and have yet to set past 11 watts! (most of the time 5w is plenty!)

No worries archie. All I can say is if your considering a Nextone (Nex-Tone as I hear it) try one in a shop. What I was hearing (or not hearing) may not be what you hear. And if you enjoy the computer tweaking, then one of these could be right for you.
I should also say, that the 4 power stage thing is pretty cool.
I'm pretty sure I posted about my experience with the NT at the old place if you can find it.
Cheers
