I was in the pharmacy section of my grocery store yesterday and noticed that all the shelves having to do with eye meds were empty. I take AREDS for early macular degeneration, and buying the capsules here saves me a trip to the drug store. I thought maybe they were locked up, needing a request for purchase. I asked the assistant manager. Nope. Wiped out by theft. Everything from contact lens cleaner to Murine (and my AREDS) stolen. They restocked and everything was stolen again. Now, they don't bother. This section is about 15 feet long by 5 feet high, and they have those convex mirrors, so thieves can watch themselves swiping stuff. Note: the last time I bought my AREDS on Amazon, I received a notification from Amazon months later, alerting me to the fact that I had purchased meds they may or may not have been counterfeit, but didn't meet their standards for sale. They recommended dumping any I had left.

It’s sad reading about the rampant shoplifting situations elsewhere in the country. Thankfully we’re not seeing that here.

There's not much to steal around here.

I recall going to a CVS in NYC near our hotel in upper Manhattan for toothpaste. It was under lock and key. Toothpaste?!?

Why pay for what you can steal as a member of a "flash mob"?

If there are no consequences, what’s the downside?

Sounds like normal behavior in some places these days!

Sounds like normal behavior in some places these days! This video really gets me going! What these low-lifes are doing is similar to looting, and IMO, looters should be shot on sight.
