Just landed one of these in the Blue burst for a pretty good price. Two main questions: 1) Are they all so dang HEAVY?? Mine comes in a 9.0 lbs! 2) The original owner swapped the black Lace humbucker for a white one (Still Red-Red Dually) and the neck pickup to a Lace chrome. The wiring is all still Tele Plus with the mini switch. Will that affect resale value down the road, or nah? So far, I'm digging it! Hopefully this picture will pop up! drive.google.com/file/d/1yJ7tzMrGsb9L1I8Lx-MK37XdsWxFZAGG/view

That's not too awful on weight. It's a couple ounces more than my Les Pauls(half a pound more than one), but certainly doable.
The pickup swap will affect resale, but probably not much honestly. It's not like you're talking PAFs here.

m: Your post prompts several thoughts in my opinion. If you are investing in a high dollar vintage guitar where everything matters regarding its true value, modifications kill the value. You have what appears to be a very nice guitar but I wouldn't put it in that category. If you like it, that's what should be your primary motive. Future value of guitars in this category? Well you never know. One of mine (not a Fender) in similar condition was trading on Reverb in the $2,500 to $2,700 range consistently, and now they are trending down to more like $2,000. I really don't care. I'm not planning on selling it nor did I buy it as an investment. I have a great example and it works for me. Especially since you apparently bought yours right, I hope it's more about whether you bond with it. Teles in general normally sound better and are more resonant at the lightest weights available. However, my favorite Tele is an Am Fat Tele that I converted to the standard single coil(s) arrangement. I have never weighed it but it is very much on the heavy side. The neck is fantastic and I do not want to experiment with a lighter body because you never know what you will end up with. It could become a major disappointment or become stellar. I'm just leaving well enough alone. My 2 cents, and I really hope you enjoy it.

Just landed one of these in the Blue burst for a pretty good price. If you dig the guitar the way it is then pay no attention to the rest of my post........ so, now that you've read this far..the original's had black pups of course, blue sensor in the neck and dually red's in the bridge.....but you can do a lot of experimentation, as lace makes several other models of lace sensors...I've had 2 of the originals, a blue one like yours, a red one, and 2 that I assembled from parts....my personal favorite lace combination is a Burgundy in the neck, and a Silver/Blue dually in the bridge.....Never cared for the dual reds.....just too hot for my tastes..... and yeah my blue one was pretty heavy as well...ugh!
