My instinct is to recoil from demonstrations of technology presented like a Hollywood gala. While the underlying tech may serve the good of man I don't need to be wowed with robots making life-like expressions. It makes me suspicious of motives.

Interesting, I think, that the quest is to make robots more and more like humans. Eventually, I suppose they'll be up to the task of sweating, belching, farting and neglecting to fill the ice cube tray. At that point they'll want their own cell phones, bedrooms and access to the TV remote. ("Why are we watching reruns of 'Bonanza"?)

It seems that with AI "on the job", fewer and fewer vocations will remain immune from usurpation.
At some point, given human nature, just who decides how wealth is to be distributed becomes quite problematic.
I guess discussion of such matters could easily butt up against site rules unless we're careful...

The day will come when you'll find yourself wondering if the guy on the next barstool, helping himself to your Happy Hour pretzels, is real or synthetic.

With life-like snarkasm algorithm option:
Hey Roberta, make me a sandwich. *Poof* you’re a sandwich.
Hey Roberta, how ‘bout scratching my back? Back scratcher’s on the end table. Something wrong with your legs?
That squeamish dental training kiddo-bot is REAL creepy!

LOL Mark! too funny! I have to wonder what humans will do when AI replaces them in the job market.

Can't quite decide which is creepier: the "life-like" robots, or the computer generated narration...

I wonder if AI will ever progress to the point where all it wants to do is be entertained? That seems to be the track of human evolution. AI is designed and built by humans so.............
