Tony Romeo, CEO of Deep Sea Vision, says that a a sonar image that his company captured during an expedition last year, appears to show a plane resting about three miles down on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, somewhere within a 100-mile radius of Howland Island. "There is little doubt that this aircraft is Amelia Earhart's Lockheed 10-E Electra that disappeared in 1937." Although the Mr. Romeo declined to give the exact coordinates of the find, a robotic excursion funded by Elon Musk ("to save the expense of burning up 8 tons of old cash") has reached a different conclusion. Said Musk, "the plane turned out to be a twin engine Piper, with disappeared union leader Jimmy Hoffa at the controls. We're pretty sure the oversized co-pilot, wearing a white sequined suit and a jaunty scarf, is Elvis Presley." www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/01/31/cant-find-amelia-earhart-missing-plane/72408041007/

Now they need a non-imploding deep sea submersible to hop in and go look.

I bet Turok, Son of Stone turns up, loitering around on the sea floor, as well...

Perhaps it’s the lost airport of Atlantis.

While it would be cool if this was “the” plane, I have my doubts. The location certainly is plausible.
That region of the Pacific must be littered with a lot of aircraft hulks.
