Well ,well, & well, deep subject and every farmer should have one.
Anyhow, pulled out my Explorer, not played her in some time, over 47 years old she 'tis.
Just gets better with age she does.
Plugged her into my vintage Champ amp, popped a rhythm
track into my CD player and wailed like the silly fool that I yam.
(I yam what I yam, and that's all that I yam) sez Popeye.
That Explorer has it in spades. Wailed for nearly an hour.
Belladonna, my muse/cat just sat and stared at me the whole time. Usually, she runs when I cut loose, but no, this time she just sat there, and dead panned me.
Not sure what that means....but I had a hell of a good time regardless I did.
The neck that thing is amazing, big, wide, flat, easy, fast.....
A really silly cool slab of wood it tis.
What hath Gibson wrought?
something wonderful methinks......

Has the tarback pickups, gold hardware. That eliminates it for me: my sweat eats "gold" plating alive. If I played it, it'd look like somebody had stored it un-cased in a damp basement in no time flat...

Gold plating never holds up, but I actually like it when it wears off in spots, gives character, especially against the black finish.

I've never played an Explorer. It would be fun to try one.

I've never played an Explorer. It would be fun to try one. They are very comfortable either sitting or standing, unlike a Vee.....

You have to find a place on the web to host it and then share it from there.

I used to have an Explorer. I bought it when I used to play mostly sitting down, but I've played standing with a strap for over 30 years. I hated that guitar on a strap....heavy and a neck diver. I spent half my time pulling the neck back up.
