I’m not in the market, but have been reading a lot about them today. One of their ads showed up in my FB feed. Since I’ve never heard of them before, I decided to search the internet (what else would one do? Lol). I’ve read everything from they’re the best thing since sliced bread to they are cheap re-branded Bennet guitars (never heard of them either).

Zager approached me a few moths back about a "partnership" and I when I responded all they were offering was an affiliate program if I put their marketing blurb on my website (i.e. I'd get a percentage of any sale that comes from my website). No opportunity to try or review the instruments was offered, or remuneration for my time, or even discussion of what %age they were offering. That doesn't feel right to me and even a little suspicious. I did not respond further or ask for anything else at that point. While I cannot say the guitars are good, bad, or indifferent I will certainly not recommend anyone try them over other established brands in the same price range.

The two guitars I do have an interest in is the Yamaha FG3 (or Fgx3) and the Taylor 117e Grand Pacific. Maybe that’s why Zager popped up, because I’m in the market for an acoustic.

Yes. I just searched for the Taylor 117e and the top of the search engine result was an ad for Zager.

I'm holding out for an Evans. Or, at the very least, a collaboration between the two. I understand they be coming out in the year 2525...

I've never heard of Zager guitars but see some discussions that echo Dr. Kev's experience.
So is this Zager the same as the guy from Zager and Evans?

And, now days Denny Zager is supposedly renowned around the world as one of the premier guitar builders. That may very well be, but I would like to think I would have caught wind of Zager guitars at some point in my 55 years of playing guitar if they were all that. But, again, I don’t get out much. Lol

To be honest, at the same price I'd be looking at the 114 with the cutaway and slightly smaller body.

I've seen the ads galore but...never heard of anyone actually using one or even talking about it.
Seems almost astroturfed for a guy who claims to be 'a premier builder."

He used to be out of Lincoln, NE. He would buy a boatload of Pacific Rim guitars for cheap, and then lower the action as far as possible and put ultra-light strings on them. He would then market them as super "easy play" guitars and jack the price up considerably.
You never hear much good about him or his business practices. I heard recently that he was retiring.
Don't ask me where I got my information, because I couldn't tell you. This is just stuff I've heard through the years.
