For a limited time (until supplies run out!), you can own a piece of Kisstory! That’s right friends, you can own a guitar that the master himself, Paul Stanley, personally destroyed on stage. You’re probably thinking a prize like this would cost tens of thousands of dollars. But, you’d be wrong! You’re not going to pay $10,000. You’re not going to pay $7,000. Nope, act today and this once in a lifetime opportunity can be yours for $5,000! Additionally, you’ll receive a picture of Paul holding the smashed guitar, AND, Paul’s signature! Here are the details: paulstanleyguitars.com/product/2009-smashed-guitars/

When I was in high school, I asked for a guitar for birthday and Christmas every year. I wasn't allowed to work so buying my own was problematic. I never got one until, when I graduated, they asked what I wanted for a graduation present. I said a guitar or nothing. I got a used Hondo II LP copy.
Given that background, I've always HATED it when musicians smash guitars on stage. Give 'em away if you need a gimmick, but seeing guitars smashed when I wanted one so badly back in the day really pissed me off.

I too cannot stand to see people destroy guitars on stage or off. It comes to mind that someone put their hard efforts into making this guitar for this person to smash them to pieces in seconds

It would be interesting to know if Paul was destroying his good guitar, or if he had a stack of cheap copies for smashing. Of course, I'll never know because I don't have it in my budget to buy smashed guitars for $5,000.
FTR, I would never smash a guitar. I remember a gig early in my 20s where I was using my Les Paul Std. I was young and only had two guitars. I normally played my Strat all night and the LP just sat on the stand. Well, I broke a string and had to grab the LP. Forgetting I didn't have strap locks on it, I turned loose of it for one second. That was the longest second of my life. The strap came off and the headstock went straight into the concrete floor. I got REALLY lucky. All it did was put a little dent in the bottom of the headstock. Of course, that still peeved me good, but it was better than a broken headstock. Anyway, I remember thinking then that people break them on purpose, but how sick I would be if my LP got busted.

I recall back in the day some musical acquaintances staging a guitar smash to end their set. One of the guys bought some cheap pawn shop import and set it up so the front man could play it well enough but then "Townsend" it. He tried, and tried, and it wouldn't break. He finally just threw it on the ground. His bandmate who assembled it for him walked over, picked it up by butt end of the guitar and gave a little tap to the headstock on the floor. Boing!
Silly thing, guitar/drums vandalism.

I'm guessing "gets at cost or X/tour" direct from Ibanez, and turns around and does this sheet. Basic setup if that, play one song, splat.
