I have a lot of old band tapes from gigs that I'd like to convert to mp3. I've seen a few devices on Amazon that will do this but not sure how well they work as most reviews are hit and miss.
I have a Sharp dual cassette deck in my system. Model is RT1120.
I think I can get a dual RCA out to 1/4" in and record into my recording software, but that seems very time intensive.
So, what do y'all think?

I have a Sharp dual cassette deck similar to yours. I take the line out from the deck and send it to the stereo input jack on the Tascam DR-07 mkii and record directly to MP3. I use Reaper if I want to split the MP3 into individual songs or make adjustments, but it does take some time.

I think I know the reason but I can't spell it.

Assuming you have one or have access to one, a standalone CD burner will work as well (this is what I would do - but because I have one). I would also record them as WAVs first and then make mp3 versions so you still have a lossless copy of the files.

I don't believe there's any way to not do it in real time, unlike copying from cassette to cassette...high speed dubbing.
