Beyond the normal hiss when the reverb is turned up, I’m hearing a thumping noise from the back of the cabinet.
any thoughts?

Does having the tremolo turned on or off make any difference?

I'll check that later today, thanks. I'm also going to take the cage off of the "big" tubes so I can tap on them.

OK, the noise is only happening when the Vibrato is on and its frequency increase as I increase the Vibrato speed. The V2 tube, which is for the Vibrato, was microphonic. I replaced it, but the noise did not change.

fenderguru.com/how-fender-amps-work/tubes-explained/After replacing the V5, the noise is much less, ore of a light hiss when the Vibrato channel volume is above 5. Also, prior to this there was a lot of high pitched feedback type noise when the Vibrato channel volume exceeded 7. There is no guitar plugged in. Overall, much better
