i've been away from guitar for several years because of an injury and have decided to give it a go and see if i can play a little bit at least...
i started going through my guitars and seeing what i needed to do and i noticed that on 3 nylon stringed instruments the D strings were broken.
i'm curious about that.
the metal stringed instruments were in good shape, even pretty close in tune since the room is about the same humidity and temp all the time.
wonder why the D's broke?

The D string has the smallest core (commonly a Nylon multi-fiber core).
It's usually the first string to go when strings get old on a classical.
