I've been wanting one for a long time. I bought a used one off of Reverb and the Big Brown Truck brought it yesterday.
It is absolutely perfect, can't find a mark on it. If it was played at all, it wasn't played very much. Still smells like a brand new guitar.
It sounds wonderful. Unbelievably loud for such a small body. Really comfortable to play. The strings were a little bright for me, so I put on a set of Elixir Phosphor Bronze 13/53 and took care of the brightness. I might try some 80/20s next string change, maybe bring back a little of the sparkle. Oh, so many different strings to try, so little time.
It has a K&K mini installed, so I plugged it into my Loudbox Mini and was delighted to find the K&K was properly installed and everything works like it should..
To me, this is a fingerpickers dream. I couldn't be happier!!

Still smells like a brand new guitar. Mine was made over 11 years ago and it still smells wonderful, especially when sniffing in the sound hole, like a bag of good pot (not that I would know what that smells like).

Fantastic guitar, one of Martin's best!
Congrats!

My first guitar back in '61 was a 1939 Martin 00-17.
My current acoustic guitars are both Martins. A 1997 0000-1 one of a total of 370 made.
My other guitar is a 2015 Martin 00-18 V with flamed mahogany backs and sides and a #8 top. There is no other like it. I favor 00 guitars. Sad that the 00-18V was discontinued. One of Martin's best.
13 strings are NOT recommended for the 00-18. 12s are standard.
I play 12s or 11s.
Congrats on the 00-18. Great guitars. Elizabeth Cotten, Steve Howe and countless others played/play them.

Forgot to add; Martin says the current 00-18 replaces the 00-18V.

The very best guitars acoustically I've ever played have been small bodied Martins from the 30-40's. The good ones were so light that it wouldn't surprise me to see one waft up on warm breeze.

Today at my local guitar store, I played a 2004 Martin 00-15S slot head 12 fretter. Amazed at the tone and playability.
Too bad it was grossly over-priced, otherwise I would own it.

Today at my local guitar store (where I am a guitar salesman) I played a newer OM-28E. Amazed at the tone and playability. Too bad (or good) it was fairly-priced, I own it.

Congrats. Excellent guitars. I like everything about the OM models except the wimpy, abbreviated pickguard. Yes, I know it is "iconic" but it really needs the 000 pickguard.

jeffscott, then it's .002 louder! Seriously, on that note, my OM has Liquidmetal bridge pins added. Talk about louder.......

I like the Hogs, I’ve got a 00-15 and a 000-15S, I’m a bit more partial to the 00, but like the nut width of the 000, a 00-15S would be perfect. I wasn’t aware Martin made a 00-15s.

I wasn’t aware Martin made a 00-15s. There are a few shops who order these as custom builds from time to time - I think one is LA Guitars. You're right - it's not a standard model.
