Recently acquired a Spector Euro Bolt 4 (see avatar). It's my first foray into active bass and I really like it. The bass is very well made in the Czech Republic. Fit and finish are impeccable. Roasted maple neck is a bit beefy but I've grown to like it. The flame maple top on the alder body is beautiful. It can do that modern/proggy growl really well thanks to the Aguilar electronics. It can also be dialed back to a more traditional sound. It enables me to become my bassist alter ego, Geddy Squier. It was a shot in the dark ordering online as there are no music shops anywhere near me that stock them but all's well that ends well.

I had a Czech-made Rebop several years ago. The body shape was wonderful and it sounded good, but I never bonded with the neck and eventually sold it.

I have no experience with them. They appear to be nice enough instruments. However, but I can't get myself past their body shapes. They just seems to look distorted. Not enough "waist" and misshapen look of the lower bout around the control area. Just call me shallow.

I agree Rick. The body contours including the scooped back are comfortable. It is fairly light at just a bit over 8lbs, and it hangs well on the strap. The one thing I don't care for on this model is a lack of a separate battery compartment. You have to remove the back plate to get to the battery.
