How did they compare to the Masterworks models of the same era?

In case anyone else is interested, I found a source that stated that the Professional series was a step below Masterworks. There seems to be general agreement that Professional models have solid tops and laminate sides, but some disagreement about the backs.

Mostly play Fender guitars and amps. I'm 71 and have had a guitar since 1964. Got serious in 1975.

I have owned a couple Alvarez guitars and both were outstanding. This was back in the 70's.

I have owned a couple Alvarez guitars and both were outstanding. This was back in the 70's. I had an Alvarez classical guitar in the late 1980’s. It was excellent! Unfortunately It fell over and the top was cracked. I could not afford to have it repaired and sold it to a friend.

I have a solid rosewood Masterworks MD90, and think it sounds very good for the price. The original post was because a PF 90 was available, but it was gone before I found out what it was.
