i have a 67 Black Face Pro Reverb and have always wondered what the bright switch does. Is it the same as turning the treble up or not. It it is how much turning of the knob equals turning on the switch. if not what does the bright switch do? Thanks

No, it's not the same. Brian Wampler seem to have read your mind and just done a video that answers this question.

The bright switch connects a small capacitor between the input and output of the volume control. If the volume control is set to max, that does nothing! But as the volume control is turned down, it will have progressively more effect. So the bright switch bypasses the volume control at high frequencies, providing a treble boost. The actual degree and corner frequencies of the treble boost will be different at every point on the volume control’s rotation. Whereas the treble control takes a frequency band starting at about 2kHz and adjusts its relative level.

Yes, and the very same concept applies to guitar treble bleed circuits.
