Never got to try one, but I hear a lot of good stuff about Epiphone acoustics. Good luck with this one, but my bet is, it's going to work out fine.

Well the guitar came yesterday afternoon. I played it for a while. It was set up very nicely. Intonation spot on, however the size was smaller than I had anticipated (as they called it a Jumbo Jr.) and it did not project the sound like my inexpensive Mitchell does So I called them this morning, sent it back and ordered this. Yep blew my price point all to heck. Ordered a Yamaha A3R ARE Dreadnought Cutaway - Vintage Natural

Yamaha A3RThis is the exact guitar I am getting. They are doing a custom setup on it and hoping it goes out today. Much more excited about this guitar. Haven't had a solid wood guitar since the D16G Aura I bought around 2005-2006. I had to sell it within 2 years of getting it. Martins are ok but I much prefer a Gibson (too expensive). Hope it lives up to my expectations.

Due here tomorrow. Can't wait! Happened one other time with FedEx. It arrived in FT. Worth (25 minutes away) yesterday morning at 8:30am but they are sitting on it until tomorrow This just happened to me with FedEx (I'm FedUp with FedEx!): I paid for 2-day delivery on a Martin custom that came in to Reno's Music in Indianapolis last week ( so that I would get it by Friday and NOT have a high end Martin acoustic bumping around over the weekend); they didn't deliver, no pun intended... Instead, they tried to deliver it yesterday over the noon hour when my office admin. was out to lunch ( and I was off/out of town); instead of trying again later in the day ( since I HAD paid for TWO DAY DELIVERY); they just drove it back to the depot, and it's out for deliver again today... UGH! What really greases my drawers is that they're almost ALWAYS supposed to get a signature when they deliver guitars to my work, and MANY times they've just left the package inside the door ( of our church/yes, I'm a pastor)... NO SIGNATURE. But yesterday, since they couldn't get a signature, they DIDN'T LEAVE THE GUITAR!!! Even though someone would have been back in the building within an hour ( we're in a small town; it's very safe). ( Could have been a different driver who actually follows their rules and gets REAL customer signatures!!!) Okay - I'm done - RANT over. Got that off my chest. Hope we BOTH get our guitars today!

Lefty Rev, what a pain that is. Sorry for your FedEx Hassles. Mine was shipped Friday evening (2 day) so I guess the 9th (today) was legitimate. I guess it came into Alliance Airport North of Ft. Worth just west of me then this morning I noticed it went to Irving just east of me then out for delivery. When you get it post a photo and tell us how you like it please.
Anyway, it came this morning. I am elated with it. Setup very nicely by Sweetwater.com, Intonation good, action low with no buzzing, looks beautiful and plays well. It came with .012-.053 Elixir 80/20 bronze strings. I will probably put Elixir .012-.052 PB or D'Addario EXP16 PB's on it. I can't believe how the A.W.E. process on the top wood makes it sound already well broken in. I am very happy with this guitar!

It came with Elixer 80/20 Bronze strings. I prefer Phospher bronze but these were good. I tried a set of D'Addario EXP 16 PB's on it. Not really liking them. Too bassy and Finger screech. I have some Pierce PB's and Elixer Nanoweb PB's laying around I will try. I want to find the best sounding string for this guitar as each guitar has it's string that fits it best.
Wow I guess not many Yamaha lovers here ☹️ Couldn’t afford a good Gibson, Collins , Martin or Eastman. Anyway I am happy. It doesn’t have that “Ahhh” feel like an inexpensive late 60’s Applause that belonged to my son in laws grandfather I played but plays well enough. Strange how I can pick up certain guitars ( few) that even though inexpensive are heavenly to play.

Wow I guess not many Yamaha lovers here ☹️ I've been tempted by a few Yamaha acoustics over the years (like the L and LL models) - but for us lefties, there aren't as many cool ones (like yours) to choose from... ...my favorite electric double humbucker guitar is a 335 style 1982 Yamaha SA1000 (lefty and all original) that I found on a well-known Japanese website a few years ago, and bought based on the pictures alone - with shipping to my door here in the U.S. it was right around $1,000 - best money I've ever spent on an electric! It is my #1 and will not go anywhere until I'm gone (or until my lefty grandson gets old enough - if he decides to play guitar - lucky him!). I've also looked at lefty Yamaha Pacificas that come up for sale now and then and also been tempted by them...

Yamaha makes a lefty FG720 and 820 that have tempted me several times. No more than I play acoustic, one of these would likely suit me well.

I put a set of gold Gotoh 18:1 Locking tuners from Stewmac and replaced the Urea saddle and Bridge Pins with Bone saddles and Bridge Pins from Bob Colosi from www.guitarsaddles.com/products.aspSpent and hour sanding the saddle to the height of the stock saddle. Worked nicely. Can't say it is a noticeable improvement but hopefully they will last longer. The tuners are nice and will be easier to string in the future. BTW: the Pin removal tool from Stewmac is great. Pops them right out
