Another western set in modern times. Bonus cameos by Dwight Yoakam and Levon Helm: www.imdb.com/title/tt0419294/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_23Stars Tommy Lee Jones. Also features Barry Pepper, who played Private Jackson, the sniper in "Saving Private Ryan" and "Lucky Ned Pepper" in "True Grit".

My favorite is Josey Wales. Some truly great one liners. Also a big fan of Outland, the space western. You can't beat a good western.

I stumbled upon Barbarosa tonight with Gary Busey and Willie Nelson. It was entertaining. Willie was a particularly good actor for being a musician.

Never been big on westerns, but there's a few I love.
The Westerner 1940 is a huge fav.

I love a good western for breakfast! Think I will make one today.
Chop up a bell pepper, couple green onions, dice up some ham, couple of eggs, maybe throw in some cheddar and ....ohhh wait,
now I get it, ummm...sorry.
OK
I liked the Hateful Eight, anyone mention that yet?
Especially liked the extended 4 part mini-series version that's on Netflix.

I just watched The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance for the first time. Great flick! I had no idea John Wayne was in it.
It's bittersweet that Wayne's last movie found him and Jimmy Stewart paired together one last time.

And his female deputy is creepy hot. Mostly creepy. But still hot. I've really enjoyed Lou Diamond Phillips in pretty much everything he's done these past years since the Richie Valens movie. She's got some shoulders on her. Pretty sure she could kick my ass. Funny thing is, she's not a blond in the books.
I eventually got used to Lou Diamond Phillips in the role of "Henry" but, having read the books before I saw the show, had pictured him as being a taller, stockier guy.
Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) was a cigar smoking, bare knuckle fighter in "Battlestar Galactica"

I liked it a lot. Many folks didn't.
One that I didn't like was the Kurt Russell with the cannibal Indians. It was too dark and morbid.

Just came across this interview and thought it might be good to put it here (even though "Unforgiven" has already been mentioned):

Blazing Saddles is not only the best Western of all time...
But, perhaps, one of the finest examples of cinematic art of the 20th century ...
In my most humble opinion, of course...

Thanks for the heavy lifting, gents. Surprised at just how many westerns I count as my favorite pics. Searchers and Unforgiven might be the best. But so many great ones. Anything by John Ford. And then you have McCabe and Mrs. Miller. And No Country for Old Men. I could go on and on, but I guess I am a fan...
