I propose using VLB, which is one letter shorter than "like". Or you could type out "virtual like button" if you're not into that whole brevity thing.

Back in the FDP days we had the rough equivalent to "like" by posting "+1" or " ^ ^ ^ This!" as a reply.
I have to admit I am finding the urge to hit a "like" button now and then. I suppose this is a result of too much time spent on the dreaded Facebook. I confess. I guess I can still resort to the the old FDP method.

The Like button has such a “drive-by” feel, IMO. And I’ve noticed on other forums that they keep score of the “Likes” you/your posts receive. It’s not conversation any more. It’s innerwebs validation.
Staying away from such gimmicks spawns better conversation.
IMO, etc.
