Whew A couple days ago I dusted off the version of Donna Lee I transcribed for guitar about 20 years ago. I have been working it out again, building it back up to "performance level" whatever that means. What a fun piece! A great crash course in chord tones, chord substitutions and extension, and plain 'ol chops building! Good stuff, it's nice to be off work for the next 9 weeks and have time for things like this!

Jay Burr is a friend who plays Donna Lee on a tuba. He can tear it up on a valve trombone too.
