Well, I like Alicia Keys.
Aerosmith was a bit shaky.
Madonna-like thing from 20 years ago by somebody.
Gary Clark Jr coming up, but we are going to sleep :-).

Like some of the others, I don't watch Award Shows. I may watch a performance on YT. I hope it was enjoyable for you.

I surprisingly liked that Lil Nas number. The banjo was a nice touch, but I felt the number ran out of gas near the end. I had never heard it before. Actually, almost all of the music was new to this geezer.
When Demi Lovato had to stop and restart her song, at least it showed that it was live and that she was not lip-syncking (and that she was not singing to a pre-recorded track). But the first few bars of the song sounded like "Revelation Song," associated with Philips, Craig & Dean and Kari Jobe. I almost thought she was going to be singing that song.

Not nearly enough Bonnie Raitt! ;-) There is a thread on the unplugged acoustic forum section of Moe's about fingerpicks. I noticed Bonnie was using fingerpicks on her Guild acoustic.

Watched the show for the first time in years. Who the heck is Billie Ellish?? I agree not enough of Bonnie Rait. Gary Clark is outstanding. Heard him live several years ago at a Eric Clapton Concert He played with more of a old style Blues. Alicia Keys is also very talented. Over all the show was entertaining. Oh Cyndi Lauper still sounded good.

Not nearly enough Bonnie Raitt! ;-) Ain’t that the truth. She was smooth as butter.

Looks like possibly a Backlund custom.

I actually watched it for the first time in forever. It wasn't horrible, Usher's Prince tribute was ok, Bonnie Raitt was good as was the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, but how Eilish won the top 4 awards I'll never know. Never heard her before and was incredibly underwhelemed listening to her performance, might be the last time I watch.

I think the last time I watched the Grammys was when Michael Jackson had Thriller out.

When I was a kid in preparation of an adult house party, Mom would put together a big bowl of assorted nuts with corn chex in there and some kinda goshawful worchestershire sauce concoction to go over it that she called Party Mix. Last night’s show was just like that for me

I didn't watch any of it. Who won? I know Delbert McClinton and his band won best traditional blues album. A friend plays keys with Delbert.

I don’t watch anymore but I did pay attention to the results this year because a friend of mine was nominated for best classical instrumental soloist.
She didn’t win ☹️
But the composer of the piece she recorded won for best classical contemporary composition, so that was nice.

I gave up and stopped watching these self-congratulatory awards shows a long time ago. I'm not alone TV ratings keep falling year to year. Category shuffle took a few genre I'm interested in and shuffled them to parts unknown. Unnecessary political statements are not surprising as we get that at concerts. Musicians and producers I know or am familiar with have had their time in the sun but are no longer "nominated" what ever that means. If there is an epic performance, it will be on YT and I can watch it at my convenience.

I have achieved geezerhood. I HATE most pop music produced in the last 20 tears. Lately the music has no intro or ending. It just starts and then stops when they run out of lyrics leaving things just hanging there.

It just starts and then stops when they run out of lyrics leaving things just hanging there. On the other hand, in 1984 Prince released "When Doves Cry." Am I the only one who thinks that song sounds like one long bridge? It sounds to my ears like it needs verses and a refrain. And you guys would quickly add a guitar solo, played by Prince himself on that Telecaster clone made by, I think, Hohner.

How can Billie Ellish win the washer/dryer combo, a Ford Fiesta and a year's membership at 24 Hour Fitness? She doesn't shave her head or even wear a meat dress. This was a sham of a mockery of a humbug.
