I have 3 on the way. They are supposed to be a mid-gain (See what they did there) tube. I'll try them in place of a 12AU7 or a 12DW7 to see how they sound

I am curious myself...using a GT 12AX7M in number 1 position...which is no longer made. Figured that will be it's replacement when the time comes.

No, I've only used the regular JJ 12AX7's. And for a modern tube, they're pretty good!

For many years we carried JJ tubes as our stock "house" preamp and PI replacements and seldom ever had any issues with them. There were times when we would prefer other brands including NOS types depending on the needs of the job or requests of the customer. As for the new 12AX7MG...I wonder how it compares Mu/Gm/Rp wise with the 12AY7? I haven't seen those specs listed by the mfg.
