Considering the dark era that looms for the tube industry, what would be your recommendation for a non-tube amp head with the following criteria;
Power an Egnater 1x12 cab with a 16 ohm 12" Celestion G12H30.
Effects not neccessary but effects loop preferable for some of my pedals.
Not necessarily a one trick pony.

Yeah, I think something along the lines of a Quilter block would probably fit the bill. The 30W rating of the speaker would narrow down the choices.

Geno will be by shortly to espouse the virtues of Quilter.

In the combo world--if you're not a pedal guy, you cannot beat a Katana or Nextone. If you like pedals, and have an extension cab, a Quilter block of some kind.
If you like simple effects and you're not a pedal guy, and you have an extension cab, find a Traynor Quarter Horse. Now out of production, these are really great for home playing, jams, open mics, etc.

I’ve got a Quilter Superblock US, and I love it. It’s my #1 gigging amp for most gigs. I would buy a Quilter Aviator Mach III, just for the additional amp options and channel switching, if I could get one in the UK.

For that speaker rating, the Katana is a bit overkill, but could set it on the 50 watt output and not dime it.
It'd work wonders, even if you never hook up the editor at all. It's genuinely not necessary to get a great tone as-is.
I'd also consider one of the little 30 watt micro heads that are popping up of late.
Friedman has one, Diezel has one, Egnater has one, etc.

If I didn't already have a DSL1 I'd get one (or if I was paying current DSL1 head prices, it's almost 2x what mine cost!)
