I have owned a Twin, gave it to my son, absurdly heavy. Had a Hot Rod DeVille 4x10. 50 pounds. Sold it. Currently have a 59 Bassman LTD. 50 pounds and I love it. Jammed with friends yesterday and got to use a new Bandit. I play rhythm and was super impressed with the tone and volume. It was on a stand. 40 pounds, but less than the Bassman and not nearly as tall. For "portability" and smaller size for loading to practice......I just ordered one from Sweetwater. Anyone else use these little beasts? Pretty poitive reviews for a solid state🎸

I owned one for a couple years and played it a lot. I put a Texas Heat in it and found that a great improvement.

I despise the Peavey tone stack arrangement, I've NEVER been able to sound good with one. Tube, solid state, whatever. The whole pre/post gain stuff, the tonality.
Other people do just fine - one of my favorite collaborator sounds amazing with an old 70s Peavey Deuce.
Plug me in, I sound like hell.

I'd love to try one of the new Bandits, but no one has them in stock. And, ordering one to try is not an option. I don't buy guitars or amps without playing them first... ever!

Supposed to arrive on Wednesday. There are different versions, apparently: Red Stripe, Silver Stripe, Teal, Nashville Pro or something. I was just so impressed using one at a jam with pals. Found out later that it has a 100/50/25 attenuator switch, 3 band EQ per channel, boost knob and a switch on the back to mold the lows-tight, medium and loose. Two channels. Should be way more than I need as a backup to my Bassman and as a practice rig. ONLY 40 pounds and 80 watts with reverb😱

😎
I sold mine back when it was most prudent that I did the one in, one out method of GAS. Otherwise I’d still have it.
Peavey has been doing SS well for quite some time now.

I've had a few over the years. Two silver stripes and a red stripe. I won't put them in the ranks of the best sounding but they are by far the toughest.

The one you're describing with all the switchable options will be a more modern one.
I'm most familiar with the ancient silver stripe and red stripe variants - they were as ubiquitous as Crate practice amps just die even less!

Works great in practice. I will bring it as a gig backup.

Those are decent amps. Peavey does not get the fan fare they deserve

I wanted one years ago, but had trouble finding one at the price I wanted to pay. A friend has always played through one, and it always sounded great in a band mix. I always heard or read that the red stripes were the best, but I have no experience to back that up.
