Looks exquisitely well thought out. I can only applaud them.

Same.
Not sure I see a very big market for him but I hope I'm wrong. Looks like they start at $2k so they'll have to be good. I don't care much for the body styles myself but he seems to be targeting the stunt-guitar crowd mainly, something I have no need for or much knowledge of.

It's a solution in search of a problem I don't have honestly.
The market hasn't been kind to cutting edge manufacturers either.
Remember Steinberger and Parker et al?

The market hasn't been kind to cutting edge manufacturers either. Yeah, guitar players in general are nothing if not traditionalists. This sort of thing will have a lot of them pooh-poohing it right out of the gate without even checking it out. Pre-judgement in the marketplace can be the death knell for this kind of product. I remember years ago someone developed a guitar with a fold down neck, and there was one with a quick detaching and re-attaching neck. Presumably to solve the same transportation problems. These soon disappeared. I think this is a novel and innovative approach though.

Yea, it's a case of I'm open to new things (I LIKE the robotuners, after all) but I just don't have a need especially in this price brakcet.

but I just don't have a need especially in this price brakcet. Same here. And I don't think there is that much of a market for these either. Once the novelty wore off I'd soon be sick of pulling it apart and putting it back together.

If I needed a "pull apart" guitar, I'd just bring one of my Fenders and unbolt the neck.

Yeah, I think that's what most of us would do reverendrob.

Good on him for finding a niche but personally, I don't see the point. If you have an electric guitar the case will fit into an overhead bin on a plane anyway. I have travelled with one a few times over the years. If you need to strap it to your back, any gig bag will accomplish that. If you need both there are travel-worthy gig bags as well. The only reason to have something like this would be for travelling on a commercial bus or a plane. If it's to a gig then I have other things to do other than assemble and setup a guitar everytime I get there. I can cut that mainenance in half or less by just taking a regular guitar and maybe have to adjust the truss rod when touring. I'm going to have all the tools I need for that with every guitar I carry anyway.
If I'm travelling out of town or out of state to do a recording session the last thing I need to have to mess with is putting a guitar together. Maybe there's a market for it but I don't see it.

Yeah, seems like everything was thought out, limited styles though. Their main focus for promotion should maybe not be travel, but less frequent component based swaps. Leo Fender saw his guitars as "swap the neck" type approaches.

It’s cool, but I’m not sure I see much of a market.
