Without opening her up does anyone know a suitable replacement toggle switch for this model? I hit it with deoxit and it works until next time I pick it up then its snap crackle pop again. Honestly, I don't even know the model on this since all that's branded is the serial number on the back of the headstock.

Thanks Pinetree, yeah I'll give the pickguard a lift. I think the last time I took a peek the pg was taped down too.

Well whilst you're in there, hose 'er down with DeOxit and give 'er a few dozen clicky clacks.

Deoxit + clickity-clack took care of it for now. My guess is it'll be back.
I never ran a 12 string electric through any overdrive before, sounds pretty cool running through a Timmy with just a light edge to it.

The internal contact surfaces usually get a small amount of corrosion, and (usually) just using the switch (or control knob) will clear it up.

I didn't see any point to hitting the backside of the switchbox as its all sealed. I took the switch out, removed all nuts and washers and hit it from the top and worked the switch. All good for now although honestly I play the guitar so little I can't tell if what I'm hearing is different than before. No crackles at all but the middle/both pickups on position is substantially louder than selecting either pickup by itself. Not a big deal as I always seem to gravitate to the bridge pickup (the other positions are just too woofy to my ear).

Hi. Nice Dano. I have a modern 59+ NOS Dano and the middle position is louder than either pickup alone. I believe this is because the pups are in series in mid position. A convenient boost! Happy New Year to all youse guys!

Those switches generally go bad and stay bad. If a blast with 'lectronik cleaner doesn't do the trick, replace it. The good news is that switch is cheap. The bad news is that switch is cheap

So far it's behaving after the deoxit spritz.

Is there some reason why you couldn't use a switchcraft or other good quality switch in there?

Is there some reason why you couldn't use a switchcraft or other good quality switch in there? I was wondering the same thing but haven't pursued it since its such a low priority guitar for me.
