I’ve been looking for an easy way to play my backing tracks, as well as go digital with printed music. I have a small Tascam recorder/player but when I use a stereo 3.5 mm headphone to 1/4” adapter, I have to fiddle with it to connect properly. Seems like it gets worse with use. The alternative is to use the audio player on my GR-50 guitar synth. I just copy and paste .wav files onto a flash drive and pop it into the GR-50. Not ideal but it works. Recently, I got an Alto Bluetooth receiver with an XLR output. I tested it with my iPad the other day and it seems to work well.
Aha! This got me thinking about those midi-Bluetooth page scroller foot pedals. AirTurn has a 4 button pedal that works with a bunch of apps. I found OnSong and they quickly replied to my inquiries about loading my library of pdf chord charts and backing tracks. Seems like they knew exactly what I wanted in integrating their app with the AirTurn pedal. Put my iPad on my mic stand and away we go it seems.
Anyone have experience with OnSong, and anything I should watch out for? Thanks.

Have you looked at Stage Traxx 3? It does tracks & charts. To get an idea of its capabilities, check out this video. (It’s not me, just a good overview of what it does)
I use this app in Solo, Duo, and full band gigs.

Thanks. I just installed OnSong yesterday. Stage Traxx looks very similar to OnSong. I have a month’s trial to decide if OnSong is right for me. I like how this guy has detailed videos on using the Stage Traxx app. I’ve seen his videos before on backing tracks and in-ear monitors.

Been using OnSong for years and am sold. There is a bit of learning curve importing pdfs and setting up setlists. I have loaded about 200 songs that I "kinda know" but then keep a couple set lists in 10 song sets and it all works well. The page turner app works as advertised and is a nice feature.
I use it heavily when rehearsing a song but try to avoid reading it on stage. But it's nice to have it there as a safety net.

the transposition capability of OnSong is key for me when jamming with others. Click Click and all the chords change. This is only if you use the ChordPro feature where you write up a song in a text editor with special formatting like all chords need to be in brackets [Dm]. I upload PDFs of sheet music for playing the sax. I also have the Air Turn pedal. There is also a scroll feature where you can have the chart scroll at whatever speed you like. The foot pedal can advance the songs in a playlist for you
On stage I use the reverse feature (forget what its called) where the background is black and the text is white. This means you dont have a bright screen illuminating you on stage. Been using it for quite a few years now. I link it to my DropBox so I can create songs on my PC, load into Drop Box and use the import feature of OnSong.
have not tried Stage Traxx

Update: I uploaded OnSong and gave the AirTurn 4 switch pedal. After a few missteps I got them working nicely. I use Dropbox to upload my pdf charts and mp3 backing tracks into my iPad library and then create a set list and add songs as needed. Works like a charm. I used it live in church this past Sunday.
