Have an old Imac with ox 10 Yosemite and a old version of Logic express 8. I was able to load the logic program but it won't record.
I know this stuff is old but it's what I have. s:0)

I'm not a mac user nor familar with Logic (a common accusation, hah). But knowing Pro Tools X won't work with Windows version X I'd start with compatibility and see if Logic Express is supported by 10 Yosemite (the operating system I presume). Then I'd check into updated drivers. Probably best to look for any Logic forums dedicated to the program.
Good luck!

I have Logic Pro 9 and 10. When Apple changes OP Systems and stop having the App Store support, the only thing you can do is transfer your old songs to the newer version. The older version is now obsolete and quits working. If you have a copy of your old operating system, then you would have to reload that and it may work with your older version of Logic. There will be no updates but you would be able to run the software again. Apple is very proprietary software and is really stingy with allowing any other programs to run on newer versions of their software. So, you take the chance that it might work with the last version of the operating system known to be able to run your recording program, but that's my best understanding of how Apple works. My Logic Pro 9 was dead in the water when Apple upgraded to a newer version and could only transfer my recorded songs into Logic Pro 10. I really liked how Logic 9 worked and have yet to get into version 10, but now own a newer computer and it will run version 10, quite well. I maxed out the ram and have all new solid state drives. It is running Monterey and this version is very stingy and won't share a lot of the older versions of most programs! But with my new Thunderbolt hub, I can hookup a lot of perreffrial equipment and not over tax my OP system. I found a Thunderbolt 3 hub that is backward compatible to Thunderbolt 2 stuff and gives me a lot of flexibility to run my outboard gear, plus it supplies the current to USB gear and further enhances the ability to add additional equipment without taxing the OP system, plus the addition of HDMI monitors! Way cool! I went to Macworld (Other World Computing) and bought a used MacBook Pro and had it upgraded to the max, to be able to serve my future needs. I saved a bundle doing this and it might be a good place for you to check out some of their options. Sorry but that's my best info for you.

Sadly, I had an similar version of Logic and an Apple Air it was supposed to work on.
And it just wouldn't work consistently, and that's very frustrating indeed.
I finally bailed on Logic and learned a hard lesson in how brutal Apple is when it comes to forcing upgrades.
That how they make the big bucks !

Thank you Auf, Cal and G. Being financially challenged, upgrades are out of the question. God bless. s:0)

Yea, Apple's games are what chased me out of their ecosystem over twenty years ago.
I won't EVER return.
And after seeing what they don't pay artists on Itunes (taking a label's percentage but providing NOTHING of that level of support)....I know i made the right choice.

I was a MAC/Logic guy for a long time but wow have they gone from being trouble free to being POS's in recent years. Besides the constant OS changes with no backwards compatibility, lack of software choices and just overall raping of the customers pricewise, I converted back to PC a couple years ago. For the price of an entry-level MAC I got a really boss PC that can do video all day as well as meet all my recording needs.

Yeah, you never know from one day to the next if you are going to wake up and your world of Mac is going to be turned upside down, your equipment is no longer supported after spending a lot of money plus it is not easy and in some cases impossible to upgrade Apple products like you can a Windows PC. I love my iPhone and iPad Pro but they were ridiculously expensive and with each software upgrade they get slower and slower until they no longer work at all.

I’m not familiar with Logic but if your tracks are made up of .wav stems you could import them into a new DAW. If you can afford $60, I’d recommend Reaper. Check out their user’s forum or Facebook group before you buy to be sure you can do the conversion. If you go this route, make sure the sample rate and tempo BPM of your song is set up the same in Reaper. This is probably true for any DAW you import your original tracks into.
