I have the DSL20 head and a 2x12 Marshall cab. I’d need a forklift to move it.

I seem to recall that these 20w heads were all around $1100 new when they first launched. They’re all quite a bit higher now. I think the SV20H is going for the same price (new) that this head sells for.

I'm glad they're understanding their market better than they used to. There was a period of time where moderate power/moderate gain was sort of a unicorn in the product line, and you were left trying to find a used/vintage thing that would work, or one of the "vintage" things that were just too dang powerful for most. That was when the JCM2000 was pretty much the only thing they had in various sizes, and then their short lived hardcore amps... what were those called?

and then their short lived hardcore amps... what were those called? I went searching and came up with this info from the Marshall Forum. Maybe this is it??? The 1966A/B cabs were sold with the Artist 3203 (Solid state pre/tube power) and the JCM 800 2204S (50 watt head in a smaller box). Those amps sat on the cabs better than the larger Marshall heads. I know because my 1987X head looked out of place on my 1966 A cab. LOL |

They also made smaller tube heads to sit on those cabs. I’d have to look up which models.
They also made 4x10 1965A/B cabs. Those are awesome. They used the Celestion G10L-35 - a great 10” British speaker.

It would be a worthwhile test, if you can find one.
I also like the new Celestion 10” Greenback. That is an outstanding “Marshall” speaker.

One, that box it’s in is FUGLY, IMO. Two, for that kind of money, I think I’d go ahead, in the name of buy once cry once, spring for one of the bootiques like Germino, or maybe a Cieratone.

The cab is a reproduction of the original JTM 45 - right down to the coffin badge logo. I like it. But then, I’m a Marshall guy.
