My Gibson Custom Shop CS356 has spent most of it's life in the case in a closet. It's basically an ES335 with a smaller butt. I did a couple gigs and a few recording sessions with it but always tend to play my SG Custom and Gold Top Reissue the most. I decided to get the CS356 out and do my practicing on it for awhile. Man, I love that guitar! It plays and sounds SOOOO good. It's purdee too. I'm going to leave it out until I wear the strings out on it. It's the only semi-hollow body guitar I have. I bought it new off Ebay in 2008 and it had a twisted neck. Rather than return it I just had the neck planed and re-fretted. Now it's a monster. I got a good deal on it so I decided to just pay to get it fixed. It's not a popular model but it's a stellar guitar once I had the neck and frets repaired. i.postimg.cc/Kcs1fgwV/100-0857.jpg

That’s a nice one. Nice top and hardware appointments. Every so often I get my 335 out of the case. It takes a day or so to get back in the groove getting use to the neck and action but once I’m reacquainted it gets all those sounds that aren’t possible with my solid bodies. I know what you mean… Show her some love.

I've lamented many times here about the 67 ES-335 I bought for $400 around 1979, then foolishly traded it away in the mid 80's. My biggest regret gear-wise. While lusting for another over the years I realize I have over-looked the other flavors of the ES line.
That one looks grand, enjoy it.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the ES series guitars unless you just happen to get a dud. That happens sometimes.

That is a beautiful guitar. What pickups does it have on it?

That is a beautiful guitar. What pickups does it have on it? I had no idea. I had to look it up. They are the stock ones for a 2008 model CS356. 57 Classic Humbuckers is what they say online. I suppose they know what they're talking about. All I know is they sound really good in that guitar.

Yea, my Gibby no-F hole 339 doesn't get enough love, but...the LPs have stolen my heart for years now.

I love semi-hollows. They can be kinda picky, and the tone can get weird and honky, and sometimes the wrong pickup combinations are truly awful. But, they're really get instruments when it works right.

I've done this so many times. Pull a case-bound guitar out to sell, install new strings, tweek the setup, play it for a couple of hours and then, sale cancelled.
