I was always hoping StewMac would have come out with a diamond file that would address the protruding fret ends, but Nomad beat them to the punch and am pleased with the result. I also bought their version of Nut Sauce and will give it a try later. In composition, I believe the 2 are comparable but the larger volume for less is a bonus! For my next acquisition, I would like to get a diamond end file to help with the overhanging frets. I have the original fret end file mounted in a polymer block but will probably buy the StewMac clamp on diamond file to fill that piece of equipment. So, between the nut, crowning and end files, that would complete the entire set of diamond tools. I have to say that the StewMac diamond 'Z' files are a great tool. I have both, the original and the safed-edged ones. They work a real treat, refacing worn frets and tapering the sides towards the top for recrowning worn down frets without sacrificing a lot of material before recrowning the tops. Especially on jumbo fret wire. Now I hope that someone will develop a diamond concave fret end file to help achieve faster results for the finishing and polishing work. That would be a great collection of fretting tools! With all of my tools, radius culls, flat sanding bar, straight edges and notched straight edges, I can achieve a really good job on necks.
