Had a lot of pedals and thought why not throw something together and see how it sounds? Even though I have a Helix I still like pedals into amps.
Got a Temple board that's 21"X16.5" to put the pedals on.
Pedals are Tuner-Korg Pitchblack Compressor-Akai Analog Mastering Preamp-Voodoo Labs Giggity Overdrive-Dover Drive Overdrive-Gearbox-Wampler Delays 1) Belle Epoch 2) El Capistan Tape Echo-Strymon 3) Nova Delay-T.C. Electronics MicroPitch-Eventide All pedals except the tuner will run individually into a Quartemaster 8 to turn on and off.
Still have other pedals I haven't used in awhile and a Boss SDE 3000 EVH to mess with. The power supply I have is a BBE Supa-Charger. For the MicroPitch I have a separate PS. In a test run months back that pedal had a nasty noise so I'm not sure why that happened?
Any suggestions on pedal order or other tips are appreciated.
Thanks

That’s a nice lineup. Can you post a pic?
It’s been a few years since I’ve built a board, which is likely the longest stretch since I’ve been playing.

Nice collection Zen. One I like is the Keeley 30 ms auto double tracker. Very versatile. Double tracking, chorus, Abbey Road reverb, slapback. Cool sounds.

Normal order to start, tuner/comp/gain pedals> time/pitch.
I"d probably do the Micropitch pre-delay
As far as the rest, I suppose I'm always mystified by these types of posts (not picking you) - the pedals didn't all show up en masse one day.
How have you ALWAYS used 'em?
As far as the "Giggity", well, I've never found a use for one so...not sure where it'd go. My Pultec tube EQ (that's an actual mastering thing) is in the rack after the board but before the amps.

They also gave many different scenarios but, that was all I needed. Also makes sense for placement of the Micropitch. I'm going to put the Giggity after the comp. As far as the pedals showing up en masse one day? Nope, you're right. I'll see pedals I'd like, forget about them, remember them and then buy. Could be months or a lot longer! My first Giggity pedal went missing (who knows how?) and I waited 4 years to replace it. I try not to get in a hurry. As far as always using them? No. I would use them for awhile and move onto something else. I've had the Nova Delay since '09. I bought that delay when I bought my Egnater Rebel 20. I still love that amp and pedal together! I like the 20 even better with my Marshall 2X12 cab. rdr-I remember hearing your 30 ms Double Tracker up at Johns and really liked that with your set up! You've got some kickin tones! LeftyMeister-I'll definitely do that when I've got it near complete.

why tuner first i go tuner last So the tuner gets a clean signal, no modulation or emphasised harmonics to throw its tracking off, without the necessity to turn other pedals off. Bear in mind that a strong 3rd harmonic, especially with an anti flub rolled off fundamental, might result in eg E being identified as B.

Also, many tuners have a "kill switch" so you can kill from the getgo - and keep delay trails going etc that way.

Tuner first - always. I want as much of an unadulterated signal into it as possible. Also for the mute function many of them posses.

Be careful with tuner pedals, many are heavily buffered. Mine is on a switchable loop. I tried the clamp-on-the-headstock versions. Nice at home but a disaster in a live band situation.

My tuner is out of the chain as an output from my volume pedal.

What's a pedalboard thread without photos? Or, as we said on the FDP, TTIUWP. lol! As I said earlier, this board configuration is the longest I've had without changes. Since I'm no longer playing out (at least for now), it's unlikely to change.
Notice the tuner has nothing on the output. To tune silently, I roll off the volume.

The Nova Delay took to much room so I replaced with the Flashback delay. Also replaced the Belle Epoch with the Freqout. Spent 200$ on cables when I should have looked for a better and more tidy cable system. I'll live with this for awhile and see if it sticks.

Nice! Unless you’re willing to have a pretty robust (aka large and complicated) controller & rack rig, a pedal board is an a good way to go, IMO. It’s a more practical and simpler way to go. In my gigging days, my board would often change by one, two and sometimes up three pedals depending on the gig.
The one constant on my board was I always had three delays on it: a Danecho Danelectro for analogue sounding sounds and two Boss DD-3s. Yes, I know the Dano is a digital pedal, but it sounded more analogue than the DD-3s to my ears.

lesterstrat-Yep. The pedals can easily be changed so, that's a plus. Definitely wasn't looking for large and complicated. The Quartermaster has a feature called flip/flop. There is a push button to the left of the loop send/return jacks that activates it when pushed in. You can override other flip/flop mode selected loops and switch seamlessly between different pedals. It's simple but nice to have.
The four pedals that won't leave the board are the Micropitch, El Cap, Gearbox and the Dover Drive. The initial plan was to have three different delays but, I'm still experimenting with all the effects and flip flop mode. Going to look at more delays while I'm at it.
I've used my DD-5 occasionally and still have a Dan-Echo. Maybe I should plug the Dan-Echo in sometime, it's been a while!
