Yes. Holy heck. Kidney stones...I got a few.
Doctor wants to operate on one too.
Now ? Nah. They don't cause much issue for me.
Think I'll keep them all now.
If I wake up without my arms and legs I'm done.
No matter what age I am.
Weird...I know.
I had to take the gfriend to ER a couple of times for spider bites.
ER docs couldn't believe it(it will heal by itself) but it was getting bad so he begrudgingly treated her with antibiotics. It worked with a week of antibiotics.
The second time, years later, the ER doc didn't believe it and wouldn't treat her with antibiotics even though it was really getting bad(red infection "target spot" 5 inches wide with the middle starting to liquify). I had to read him the riot act and he finally relented. This time the antibiotics didn't really work and gfriend had to go to a local urgent care place for super serious invitro antibiotics over several days. It slowly went away and the doctors there said she was in serious danger of losing her leg.
All this from an unknown spider. But the "authorities" say we don't have brown recluse spiders.
Well then geniuses...we sure have a spider just as dangerous ! Be nice to know what it was...:[
A tough buddy who's lived most his life in this area brought in some wood for his fireplace a couple years ago.
He got a spider bite on his forearm and he spent 4 months fighting it and eventually got antibiotics for it.
Until then, he was losing that battle.
And some lady who was running local Seattle water through her nasal passages regularly, got the amoeba that ate her brain...and it killed her.
Dog scratches, spider bites and swimming with amoebas...plus tick bites and mosquito bites.
Need to take these things more seriously, even more as we age.
Even Pandemics.
And avoid the hospital for frivolous things.
They do the best they can, but the 60 million plus baby boomers did not lead to a doubling or tripling of fully trained medical staff and fully modern
hospital facilities did it ?
And the world's pathogens are busy evolving as well.
Well, I hope that woman can overcome her condition to her satisfaction.
But count me out. She has kids to raise though.
And maybe new tech advancements in artificial limbs can help her out ?
May that be true !
