We got our first snow of the year. It’s only maybe a half inch or so, but enough to cover ground good and mess up the roads. We’re in the foothills of the Quachita Mountains so driving up, down and around the hills around here can be a bit treacherous, especially when it freezes over night.

Got about 4 inches here in Wichita this morning. Luckily, it's only about 32 degrees and it is melting off the roads quickly. This is good because I'm leaving in about 1/2 for a big band corporate party gig.

I took down my outside Christmas decorations today and it is the first time I can remember, in my 48 years of decorating the outside of my home for the holidays, that I put stuff up and took it down a month later with absolutely no snow on the ground. There was one night we got (I’m guessing) an inch that melted in a day or so, but we’re supposed to get .8” tonight. That will melt off in a day or so according to the forecast. My friends living in New Mexico and Arizona have more snow than I do…woohoo!

Well… zero snow out at our place. Weather app says there’s been 1.4” of snow in the last 6 hours. I’d guess that’s in town. It’s often the case that our weather and the weather in town differ. If it rains out here, it’s dry in town.

I’m not a fan of snow. Ya don’t have to shovel rain. Bring on the global warming.

We got about 10" Yesterday. Expecting another 1-3" tonight and 4-8" tomorrow night. Oh, and my snowblower starting giving me trouble just as a finished up last night. The auger wouldn't engage. Not shear pins...even the chute auger didn't start up.
It either froze up and jammed or there's an issue with that system (cable, drive mechanism....??).
If it's DOA, not sure what I'm gonna do. It takes 90 minutes with a snowblower to do my drive, closer to 2hours if there's a huge berm from the plows. No way I could shovel that when healthy, but I'm barely able to walk with my bad hip just from snowblowing.

We’re supposed to get bone chilling (low of 1-2 degrees) this weekend along with a few inches of snow. That’s an extreme and rare temp for our neck of the woods.

We're seeing teens in the forecast for next week when we're away. Despite being built this century we've learned in 2021 that these homes weren't built for these kinds of temperatures. I drained/prepped the lawn irrigation system today and will be shutting off the water at both the house and the street.
I mowed the lawn today, too. 🤪

Woo hoo, she’s snowin’ and blowin’ out there right now! This is supposed to keep up until around noon tomorrow and I’m hoping thats accurate because I have a dinner reservation for this table Saturday evening.
