I had no idea that since 2016, the Americans with Disabilities Act has mandated that movie theaters provide closed captioning for all digital movies. Moreover, they have to let the public know of the rule, and have personnel on hand to assist patrons with the necessary equipment. And here I thought theater personnel were just there to sweep up the after-show popcorn residue. Equipment? Yes. Two types. Via special eyeglasses or using a flexible arm with a screen, (Captiview) anchored on the armrest or in the cupholder. The CC's are transmitted to these receivers. I haven't been going to theaters regularly for at least a couple of years, but I don't recall seeing any of the stuff mandated as I've described. www.3playmedia.com/blog/why-advocates-are-calling-out-closed-captions-at-movie-theaters-and-festivals/#:~:text=ADA%20Requirements%20for%20Movie%20Theaters,Act%20(ADA)%20Title%20III.

Apparenly buried in that article toward the bottom they are advocating for permanent open captions for all to read. Not a fan personally but for people who need them ok. I just would not go see that. I don't go to the movies so it really is a non issue, but looks like an expense or change for the movie makers.

I’m lobbying for the organ player to return.

Our local theater has certain showings each day where the movies are captioned right on the screen. I’ve gone to one because the time was more convenient, but didn’t like that.

I’m lobbying for the organ player to return. It's the only proper way to see "Phantom of the Opera"

I’m lobbying for the organ player to return. Organs are still being played at certain theaters…
