Granted I haven't seen it in a million yrs but it had gotten completely unwatchable for me back then. Tonight I happened to leave it on after the news, host was Dakota Johnson, Justin Timberlake musical guest. The first 2 skits weren't awful, a Jerry Springer parody, then a talk show w Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon as Barry and Robin Gibb. Not laugh out loud funny but I actually chuckled a few times. Then a terrible commercial parody w Johnson. Anyway a few chuckles is more than I can remember the last few times I watched. Watching a bit more now, not very funny. Oh well......

I find in interesting but not funny. The news is the highpoint and always gets my attention.

IMO it's about 10% funny. The news section is why it's funny at all. Most of the skits aren't funny. Like you I'll get a chuckle sometimes but it's rare that they're what I think is funny. What's funny is how many times I used the word funny in this post. Now get offa my lawn.

Late night television was taken over long ago by political activists. That makes all of the late night shows unwatchable for me.

The writing seems to be better lately. I check it out depending on the host and musical guest.

You can’t judge the show by a Timberlake episode. I don’t like his music, or his acting, but for some reason he is always funny on SNL. So an episode with him is probably better than their average episode.
I haven’t watched in years, personally. Not since Andy Samberg and his contemporaries left.

SNL became like a restaurant you used to like that suddenly sucked. After too many disappointing experiences I just never came back.

It seems to be like the newer Simpsons... there are some good moments where it is clear they have some real talent working there, but somehow the whole thing just isn't working right. I haven't given much time to either of these, though.

Once a regular SNL viewer, I quit watching at least three presidents ago. There’s not much worse than uninspired humor and that was all SNL offered me at that point. Besides, most of the musical guests reminded me just how “outdated” I’d become.
